It's been said that imitation is the highest form of flattery. If that's true, Mint Mobile should once again feel pretty flattered.

NET10 Wireless has launched a new eBay exclusive plan promo. It's centered around a multi-month plan. Right now, customers who buy three months of wireless service will get an additional three months for free. This is the same promo that Mint Mobile offered with its BOGO promo back in November of 2020, and it even includes the same amount of data.

NET10's BOGO & Plan Details

NET10's eBay exclusive plan includes unlimited everything with the first 3GB of data each month available at high-speeds before throttling to 2G data speeds. NET10 does not specify what network this plan is designed to work with. However, the branding of the plan is in magenta which signals a linkage to T-Mobile's network. Furthermore, BestMVNO reported weeks ago that NET10 had launched some other eBay exclusive multi-month plans confirmed to work only on T-Mobile's 4G LTE and 5G networks with similar branding.

This new offering *may* be for new customers only. It costs $45 for 6-months of wireless service. That's an average price of $7.50/month. Tax may be applicable depending on your location. NET10 is advertising the offering as being available in a limited quantity.

Editor's Take

If NET10 is really trying to imitate Mint Mobile, they may want to update the amount of data included with the plan. When Mint Mobile launched their BOGO back in November, their corresponding plan also included 3GB of high-speed data. However, the plan was later upgraded to include 4GB of high-speed data.

Multi-month phone plans continue to be a trend. And we have Mint Mobile to thank for that. AT&T Prepaid offers them, as does Gen Mobile, Unreal Mobile, and Red Pocket Mobile among a few others. The plans have gained favor with consumers because they offer great value to those willing to pay for service in advance. And wireless providers benefit by retaining customers or at least revenue generated from them for a longer guaranteed amount of time.
