Consumer Cellular has launched a new promo. Customers that add-a-line will get a free month of service. The free line is valued at $15. Previous Consumer Cellular promos over the years have offered account credits with new lines (1, 2, 3). The best such offer came in September of 2021 when new lines of service were offered a whopping $100 account credit.
Offer Fine Print
As usual with Consumer Cellular, this offer doesn't really have any significant fine print to speak of. Just add-a-line of service by March 31st, 2023, and that line will get a free month of service. Consumer Cellular's normal pricing for adding a second line to any account is $15. This offer also applies to Consumer Cellular's Home Phone Base. Home Phone Base allows you to turn your landline home phone into an additional line on your Consumer Cellular account.
If you are a current customer interested in this offer you can claim it by logging into your online account. You can also call Consumer Cellular at 1-888-429-3823 and mention the promo code FREEADD8 to get it.
Consumer Cellular is primarily an MVNO of AT&T. The MVNO offers six different phone plans priced as follows:
- $20 - 1GB
- $25 - 5GB
- $35 - 10GB
- $40 - 15GB
- $45 - 20GB
- $50 - 50GB "unlimited data" plan
Taxes and fees are extra. Prices shown include a $5/month autopay billing discount. There's an additional discount of 5% available to AARP subscribers. AARP members can also get two lines on the 50GB plan for $55/month.
All plans include unlimited talk and text. Data from the main line is shared with all lines in an account. The only plan to include unlimited 2G slow data once the plan's high-speed allotment has been reached is the 50GB plan. On all other plans, customers that go over their monthly data allotments will automatically be upgraded to the next available plan. Customers will remain on the upgraded plan for their next billing cycle unless they change back to their original plan.
Consumer Cellular is sold online and in Target and Walmart stores. More recently, Consumer Cellular has opened up a small number of its own branded stores in Florida and Arizona.
As an alternative to the add-a-line promo sold directly by Consumer Cellular, customers that pick up a SIM or phone online or in-store at Walmart will receive a $50 account credit that's spread out over five months.
