Like Cricket Wireless, Boost Mobile also launched its first deals of 2021 today. Boost's featured offer is a deal for a $40 unlimited plan bundled with a free Samsung Galaxy A21. Of course, there is some fine print associated with the offer. So let's have at it.

Offer Fine Print

To get the deal, customers must port to Boost and pay for 6-months of service in advance. Those porting from a Sprint MVNO are not eligible for the offer.

After the 6-months of prepaid service ends, customers will pay $40/month for their plan. Subscribers who need to restart their service will have to pay $50 immediately and that will shorten the service period to less than 6-months. The $40 unlimited plan is based on Boost Mobile's base unlimited plan which uses the T-Mobile network and regularly costs $50/month.

Customers interested in this deal should note that Boost Mobile considers 35GB of monthly high-speed data to be unlimited. After that threshold is reached, customers will have their data speeds reduced to 2G for the remainder of their billing cycles. The plan does include 50 domestic voice roaming minutes. The plan also includes 12GB of mobile hotspot, video streaming is limited to a resolution of 480p, gaming streams are limited to 2Mbps, and music streaming is limited to 500Kbps.

The offer is in-store only and scheduled to be available at least until 2/8/2021.

Other Deals Include $99.99 iPhone SE

Boost Mobile has extended some of its other in-store only offers that were originally scheduled to end yesterday. For months, Boost Mobile has been offering the iPhone SE for $99.99 to switchers. That deal remains in place and is now scheduled to be available at least until 2/8/21 as well.

Several free phone offers are also available in-stores for switchers until 2/8/21. Some of the available free phones include:

  • Samsung Galaxy A21
  • Moto G Fast
  • LG K51
  • Samsung Galaxy A11

The selection of free phones will vary a bit based on the dealer. All have the basic fine print: those porting from a Sprint-related carrier are not eligible, and taxes and fees are extra and based on the phone's suggested retail price.

Boost Mobile is also offering free SIM cards to customers that bring their own device to the network. This deal appears to be available both online and in stores.

Other Extended Offers Include Double Data

Through 2/8/21 Boost has also extended several other of its popular offers. The double data offer on Boost's $10 and $15 plans remain in place. The double data offer was originally launched back in September of 2020. New customers on the $10 plan get their first 3-months of service with 2GB of hard capped data instead of 1GB. The $15 plan will include 4GB of hard capped data instead of 2GB.

Boost's 3 unlimited lines for $90 offer (35GB high-speed data per line) has also been extended.
