It seems Charter's Spectrum One plan bundle has caught the eye of Comcast. Last October, Spectrum launched its Spectrum One bundle priced at $49.99/month for an unlimited mobile line with home internet. Now Comcast has done the same thing with its Xfinity Internet and Mobile brands. New Xfinity customers can now get an unlimited Xfinity Mobile line bundled with home internet for $50/month. This has the makings of a good deal but it does come with some fine print.
Xfinity Mobile + Internet Bundle Deal Fine Print
Xfinity Mobile's $50/month bundle deal pricing does not include taxes and fees, they cost extra. It is for new residential customers only and paperless billing with autopay from a bank account is required, otherwise the bundle price increases to $60/month. Enrolling with a credit or debit card will increase the price to $55/month.
The bundle deal includes Xfinity's home internet plan with download speeds limited to 200Mbps. The bundled phone plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data with the first 20GB of monthly data available at up to 5G data speeds before speeds are reduced to 1.5Mbps download and 750Kbps upload. Video streaming is at 480p, and mobile hotspot is unlimited with data speeds restricted to 600Kbps.
Xfinity Mobile's fine print states that this bundle offer gives you $10/month off your bill for activating a mobile line with Xfinity Internet. An additional $10/month discount for 24 months is offered for activating an "Unlimited Intro" line, bringing the total phone line bundle discount to $20/month. After the 24 months is up, or if you change your lines to By the Gig, the $10/month unlimited line discount is removed. So expect a price increase after two years to at least $60/month for the bundle. The Unlimited Intro line is normally priced at $45/month for a single line.
As an alternative to the bundle deals, customers who just want an internet plan can get the 200Mbps plan for $25/month for two years. The regular rate for the stand alone internet plan is $77/month. The Xfinity Internet offer is featured in a new TV ad that you can watch below.
Both the bundle offer and internet-only offer are scheduled to be available at least until 3/21/23. Xfinity Mobile is an MVNO of Verizon and recently passed 5.3 million subscribers.
