TextNow Plan Summary

Sprint MVNO TextNow recently updated all of its plans to include unlimited talk and 2G data.  The upgrade to unlimited talk is a welcomed addition to its plans, although the inclusion of unlimited 2G data may be considered more of a gesture than a useable feature to some.  TextNow offers 4 different cell phone plans with the two cheapest ones providing the best value when compared to other MVNOs and prepaid providers in the market.

TextNow Plan Summary

All plans include unlimited talk and text both domestically and to Canada.

TextNow has also joined the ranks of Republic Wireless, Google's Project Fi, and FreedomPop to name a few, in that they are all providers that offer hybrid Wi-fi/cellular network calling.  Calls and texts via TextNow will route through Wi-fi first whenever available, and fallback to Sprint's cellular network when it is not.  To use Wi-fi calling you'll have to purchase a phone directly from TextNow so that you'll have access to their software that supports the feature.  BYOD currently do not work with Wi-fi calling so you'll only have Sprints network to rely on for calls and texts.

The unlimited talk and data upgrades aren't the only thing that TextNow changed.  They also lowered the price on the refurbished Motorola G by $1 bringing the total cost to $13.99.  They are also now offering the LG Nexus 5 for $249.99 and the Motorola Moto X for $149.99.
