Simple Mobile has released a limited time promotion for its $25/month plan. Those that subscribe to it will get 3GB of high speed data through 9/30/18 instead of the usual amount of 1GB. With auto pay enabled, the price is just $20/month. Additionally, the T-Mobile MVNO is giving away 3 phones for free with the purchase of any plan.
Simple Mobile's Promotional Plan And Monthly Phone Plans Compared
All of Simple Mobile's phone plans include unlimited talk, text and data with the specified amount at 4G LTE data speeds. All plans also include unlimited international talk to over 60 countries, roaming in Mexico, the Domincan Republic, and several other countries in Latin America. WiFi calling and texting is also available for supported phones.
Here is how each Simple Mobile plan differs from one another:
- $25/month ($20 with auto pay) - 3GB of 4G LTE data through 9/30/18, after which the plan will presumably go back to 1GB. More on this later. Also includes mobile hotspot and a $10 international talk credit. Previously the plan was discounted to $23.75/month with auto pay billing enabled.
- $30/month ($28.50 with auto pay) - 2GB of 4G LTE data plus mobile hotspot and a $10 international calling credit. Add a line for $25/month, up to 4 additional lines allowed.
- $40/month ($37.50 with auto pay) - 6GB of 4G LTE data plus mobile hotspot and a $10 international calling credit. Add a line for $25/month, up to 4 additional lines allowed.
- $50/month ($45 with auto pay) - unlimited LTE data. No mobile hotspot. Video streaming limited to a resolution of 480p. Get 2 lines for $75/month, each additional line thereafter is priced at $25. A total of 5 lines are allowed on one account. A $10 international calling credit is also included.
- $60/month ($57 with auto pay) - unlimited LTE data plus 10GB of mobile hotspot at LTE data speeds. Video streaming limited to a resolution of 480p. Get 2 lines for $85, each additional line thereafter is priced at $25 per line. A maximum of 5 lines are allowed per account. A $20 international calling credit is also included.
Like all unlimited data plans, Simple Mobile does have a data prioritization policy in place. At any time the T-Mobile network gets congested, Simple Mobile customers may experience slower data speeds than their T-Mobile customer counterparts.
On plans with a limited amount of high speed data, those who go over that limit will see their data speeds reduced to as low as 64 Kbps for the remainder of their billing cycle.

More On The Promotional Bonus Data
Simple Mobile is a TracFone owned brand. I've seen TracFone brands in the past cut promotions like this short in order to make them permanent. I'm expecting the same thing to happen here. The reason why is T-Mobile seems to be allowing its MVNO's to offer more data at cheaper price points. For instance, LycaMobile and Ultra Mobile both sell unlimited plans with 4GB of data for $29/month. A 3GB data plan for $25/month would fit nicely within that pricing scheme. Although if the plan structure is made permanent, I would be a little surprised if the auto pay discount price remains at $20/month.

As you can tell by their features, all of the phones being given away are older model budget devices. They also come with a warning from the US government that alleges that devices made by Huawei and ZTE could present national security risks. Those of you that may be afraid of such a warning may want to shop for other budget phones from Simple Mobile that include offerings from Samsung and LG. Prices for the aforementioned devices start at just $29.99.
