H2O Wireless has just added a new phone plan to its lineup.

The new plan comes with unlimited domestic and international talk and text to over 50 countries.  Unlimited data is also included with the first 500 MB at high speeds.  It is priced at $20/month or $18/month with auto pay billing enabled.  New subscribers get 1GB of high speed data for their first month of service.

H2O Wireless is also giving away one month of bonus data to new subscribers to several of its other phone plans.  The other phone plans that come with one month of bonus data are:

  1. $30/month or $27 with auto pay billing enabled. The plan normally comes with 2GB of high speed data, but new subscribers get 4GB
  2. $35/month or $31.50 with auto pay billing enabled.  The plan normally comes with 3GB of high speed data, but new subscribers get 5GB.
  3. $40/month or $36 with auto pay billing enabled.  The plan normally comes with 6GB of high speed data, but new subscribers will get 8GB.

All H2O Wireless Plans Include Auto Pay Discount

All of H2O Wireless's cell phone plans include unlimited domestic and international talk and text and unlimited data with the specified amount at high speed.  H2O Wireless considers high speed data to be a maximum of 8 Mbps.  Video streams at 480p.  Service is provided by the AT&T network.

The Fine Print

The free bonus data offer will be available to those who subscribe to a qualifying plan by 3/31/18.  A new service line or number port-in is required.  The bonus data is not available to those who want to subscribe to a multi-line plan.  Unused bonus data is forfeited if a customer switches plans before their monthly billing cycle is up.

Analysis

The new plan is an interesting offering by H2O Wireless.  The $20 price point more than effectively cannibalizes the $20 plan sold by EasyGO.   EasyGO is owned by H2O Wireless and also operates on the AT&T network as well.  The EasyGO offering only includes 100MB of high speed data and 11 international calling countries.  That is far less than what H2O's plan includes.  It's possible that this new plan marks the beginning of the end for the EasyGO brand, or that changes are forthcoming to the brand's phone plans.
