Consumer Cellular has launched a new "Holly Jolly Savings" promotion. New customers and current ones that add a line of service will receive a $25 account credit. The promotion was launched last week and noted in a recent report from Wave7 Research. Consumer Cellular has also launched a limited-time customer referral program bonus. Subscribers that refer a friend will earn $25 account credits and so will those who subscribe through a referral. Consumer Cellular normally offers $10 referral credits. The company announced the updated program in a blog post yesterday.
Consumer Cellular's $25 New Line Credit Offer Details
The $25 account credits are available to new customers. Current customers that add a line will also receive a $25 account credit for each line that they add to their accounts. New lines of service must be initiated by December 31, 2019, to claim the credits. Credits will be applied to an account on the subscriber's first invoice after activating a new line. New lines must remain in service until the end of the first billing period to claim the credit.
Referral Progam Details
Consumer Cellular is using the phrase "It Pays To Share" to highlight their promotional refer-a-friend program. New subscribers who signup through a customer referral link will earn a $25 account credit if they subscribe by December 31, 2019. Current customers will also receive $25 for each referral they send to Consumer Cellular until the end of the day on December 31. There is no limit as to how many referral credits a current customer can earn.
In order to earn referral credits, current subscribers must fill out this form on the Consumer Cellular website. The form asks for the subscriber's name and account number and for their friend's name and email address. Once completed, Consumer Cellular will automatically send an email out to the friend asking them to join their network. The email will also contain the name of the person who recommended Consumer Cellular to them and how they can earn a $25 credit for subscribing.
The refer-a-friend credits and new lines of activation account credits are stackable. So new customers will receive $50 by subscribing to Consumer Cellular through a referral link during the promotional period.
What Plans Does Consumer Cellular Offer?
Before even considering a switch to Consumer Cellular you will probably want to know what plans are offered, so here they are.
Consumer Cellular offers two talk only plans for customers to pick from. Subscribers can choose a plan with 250 minutes for $15/month or they can upgrade to unlimited for $20/month. If they want texting and data a "Connect Plan" must be added to an account. Connect Plans are priced as follows:

All Connect Plans come with unlimited texting. Subscribers that go over their plans data limit during a billing cycle will automatically be upgraded to the next higher up plan. Subscribers on the $40 Data Connect plan will have their data speeds slowed for the remainder of their billing cycle if they go over the 25GB high-speed data limit. Additional high-speed data may be available for purchase if a subscriber asks for it. Customers can add additional lines to their accounts for $15/line. The talk and data allotments from line 1 get shared with line 2. Line 2 does not get its own separate talk and data allotments. Taxes and fees cost extra and are not included in the prices shown.
