AT&T Prepaid has recently been making a hard push into the multi-month plan market. The market has been pioneered and dominated by MVNOs such as Mint Mobile and Tracfone. But AT&T is the first major carrier to make a big play in the space.
Last year, AT&T Prepaid launched its first real and highly competitive multi-month plan into the market. It's still available today. For $300 ($25/month) plus applicable taxes, subscribers get a 12-month plan that includes unlimited talk, text, and data with the first 8GB of data each month at 4G LTE data speeds. Mobile hotspot is also included as is unlimited texting to over 100 countries. The plan's subscribers can also use their talk, text, and data while roaming in either Mexico or Canada at no extra charge. This is AT&T Prepaid's $40/month plan at a discount.
Over the course of the past few months, AT&T Prepaid has unleashed a flurry of new multi-month plans onto the market. In May of 2020, a dealer exclusive offer was unveiled. Subscribers could pick up a 3-month plan for $120 with 12GB of high-speed data and up to 10GB of mobile hotspot allowed. The rest of the plan's features are the same as AT&T Prepaid's regular $40/month plan. Paying for 3-months in advance gets subscribers more data.
Just a couple of weeks after the dealer exclusive 3-month plan was launched, AT&T Prepaid began to offer another 3-month discount plan. The plan was launched in June of 2020 and is available directly from the AT&T Prepaid website. Subscriber's willing to pay for 3-months of service in advance can get A&T Prepaid's $40/month plan for just $99 which works out to $33/month.
On July 10, Dennis Bournique posted on Twitter that AT&T Prepaid launched another discount plan based off of its $40 rate plan. Subscribers can now get 6-months of service for $180 or $30/month.
AT&T Prepaid has added a new 6 month plan with unlimited talk and messaging and 8GB of high-speed data per month for $180 ($30/month). This is in addition to the previously announced $99 3 and $300 12 month versions of the plan.https://t.co/oKmvR20mWw

With the new plan in place, AT&T Prepaid now offers 3, 6, and 12 month plans which puts them in direct competition with Mint Mobile and Unreal Mobile who offer the same plan durations but with differing amounts of data.
