Visible by Verizon has introduced a new flagship prepaid wireless plan without raising prices. The new plan is called Visible+ Pro, priced at just $45/month taxes and fees included it offers:
- Unlimited premium priority data on 4G LTE, 5G Nationwide, and 5G Ultra Wideband (UW)
- Video streaming in 4K UHD
- International calling to 85 countries and texting to 200 countries
- Unlimited hotspot with speeds of 15Mbps
- Apple Watch service included at no extra cost
Visible+ Price Reduced
Visible has also updated its existing Visible+ plan. It now costs $35/month (down from $45) and gets a boost in video streaming quality from 720p to 1080p (Full HD) and unlimited priority data is available on all networks. Previously, priority data was limited to 50GB when connected to either the 5G Nationwide or 4G LTE. As a downgrade, Apple Watch service is no longer included. The base Visible plan remains at $25/month with no changes.

These updates make an already aggressively priced prepaid brand even more competitive. The updated Visible+ plan arguably delivers the best value on the market for a non-promotional single line plan at the $35/month price point, not only on the Verizon network but on any network. The same goes for the new Visible+ Pro plan. Both blur the lines between prepaid and postpaid with feature lists that may even surpass those offered by Verizon's most expensive postpaid plans at a fraction of the cost. Of course, the postpaid plans come with the option of bundled streaming services, many free and heavily discounted phone offers, and multi-line discounts, all features generally lacking with Visible. Visible is designed exclusively for single line customers and does not support multiple lines on one account.
The pricing update is great for Verizon fans and consumers but may not be so great for the MVNO market where MVNOs will continue to find it harder to compete against carrier-owned prepaid brands. Carrier-owned prepaid brands have the ability to offer truly unlimited 5G data plans whereas 99% of MVNOs cannot. US Mobile may be an experimental exception.
There's also the risk of brand cannibalization within Verizon itself.
Total Wireless, another Verizon owned prepaid brand continues to offer 50% off all three of its unlimited plans to new single line customers and they include a five year price lock. That makes Total Wireless's plans cheaper than Visible with many of the same features shared between each brand. Total Wireless's plans all come with roaming in Canada and Mexico, and their two flagship plans, priced at $25/month and $30/month after the discount both include roaming in 15 additional countries plus a Disney+ subscription. Total Wireless does differ significantly from Visible in that it is a brick-and-mortar retail focused brand. Total Wireless can be found in various stores including Walmart, Target and Best Buy. There are also over 1k branded Total Wireless dealer stores. Visible is an online only brand.
