Visible by Verizon has just updated its $45/month flagship plan, Visible+ so that it now includes 720p video streaming an upgrade from its previous limit of 480p. Another new feature is Global Pass rollover: subscribers can now store up to 12 unused Global Pass days on both monthly and annual plans. Previously, any used Global Pass day expired at the end of each month. Global Pass allows you to access your talk, text, and data while roaming in 140 countries.
New Customers Get A Discount and 25 Month Price Lock
Visible by Verizon's new member promo, which you can get here, has also been refreshed. When you use the code SWITCH25 at checkout as a new subscriber you can get that flagship plan for just $30/month for 25 months. The base Visible unlimited plan is also discounted to $20/month (down from $25/month) with the promo code. Both plans include all taxes and fees. Over the Black Friday holiday shopping period, the flagship plan was $35/month with a two year price lock, while the base plan offer was also $20/month. The current offer is scheduled to be available until 1/31/2025 at 11:59pm EST. One other important thing to note is that if you switch plans at all during the promo period you will lose the promotional discount. If you upgrade or downgrade your plan you will have to pay its standard rate.
Which Promo is Better, Total Wireless or Visible?
Sticking to the same Verizon-owned family of brands, I still think Visible's sister brand, Total Wireless's offer of 50% off an unlimited plan is a better value. You can get their flagship plan at the same $30/month rate with all taxes and fees included but it comes with a five year price lock instead of two. It also comes with unlimited premium priority data regardless of what network you are connected to whereas the Visible by Verizon plan includes only 50GB of premium priority data when connected to Verizon's 4G LTE and 5G networks. You only get unlimited premium priority data on 5G Ultra-Wideband.
This 50GB premium priority data limit could be something that eventually goes away. Jeremy Bolton, Visible's Managing Director took note of a former Visible's subscribers complaint on X about the limit as something that made them port out.
Noted.

In my testing, I found that Total Wireless allows up to 1080p video streaming on it's mid-priced plan that also includes unlimited premium priority data. It should be the same on the flagship plan. So videos will stream at a bit of a higher resolution on Total Wireless. Total Wireless's plan also includes a Disney+ subscription. Both Visible+ and Total Wireless's flagship plans include unlimited hotspot, however Total Wireless has maximum hotspot speeds of 5Mbps whereas the Visible+ plan is at 10Mbps.
Terms and Conditions Changes?
All wireless carriers take steps to protect their networks from abuse. Total Wireless recently updated their terms and conditions to define a bit more what they consider to be abuse. Their terms and conditions now state:
"We reserve the right to interrupt, suspend, cancel, or terminate your Service to protect the network from harm due to any cause including, without limitation, the excessive and/or unauthorized use of the Service. If the amount of a single mobile line's total monthly data use in a Plan cycle exceeds the average amount of data consumed by the top 0.5% of users on the network during the preceding six-month period, we may reduce data speeds to your device to 1.5Mbps for the remainder of the cycle."
As far as I'm aware, the definition stating the top 0.5% of users will have their data speeds throttled to 1.5Mbps is new.
Visible's terms and conditions about network abusers are a bit less explicit and remain unchanged. They state:
"If you use your Service in an inappropriate or unapproved way, like manipulating our Service to use it as a replacement for a home broadband service, then we may take action to limit, suspend, or end your Service. We may look at usage patterns or activity to determine if it appears that you are using your Service as a home broadband replacement, including how data services are used and if the Service is being used exclusively, or near exclusively, through the hotspot feature. We may investigate, and may ask you to provide an explanation, to determine whether such usage violates the terms and conditions of your Service, the Customer Agreement, or any other applicable terms & conditions."
Visible does not have the potential hard throttle limit in place that Total Wireless defines. However, in my view, the terms and conditions set forth by both providers are in place to stop you from trying to use your phone plan as a replacement for home internet. So unless you are doing that or running 24-7 speed tests, most people using either service should not be affected by either set of terms and conditions.
