US Mobile has announced several significant changes to its wireless plans, including deeper discounts on its annual plans, the discontinuation of its Flex plan, a $399 Google Pixel 9 offer, and an expansion of its Multi-Network functionality, and more data on its cheapest unlimited plan. Most of the updates and offers went live on April 1.

Unlimited Plan Updates and Offers

US Mobile has launched promo pricing on both of its unlimited annual plans for new customers, but only on their "Dark Star" network. Dark Star is the label that US Mobile gives to the plans it offers on AT&T's network. They've also doubled the high-speed data and hotspot allowances on their Dark Star Unlimited Starter plan. The changes are summarized below. All plans include taxes and fees.

  • Unlimited Starter Plan: $19/month (paid annually), includes 70GB of high-speed deprioritized 5G data and 20GB of hotspot data. Previously had 35GB and 10GB. Regular annual price is $22.50/month.
  • Unlimited Premium Plan: $29/month (paid annually) for truly unlimited priority 5G data. Regular annual rate is $32.5/month.

To get these rates you'll have to use the promo code "overdrive" at checkout. The data and hotspot allotment increases are said to be permanent changes. Customers who don't want an annual plan can get the Unlimited Premium Plan on Dark Star network for $35/month for 12 months with code FULLSPEED at checkout. The normal monthly rate for this plan is $44/month.

The promos are designed to offer better values to customers in exchange for a longer term commitment to the brand. According to this Reddit post started by the company's founder, existing customers are not yet eligible for the promotional pricing but will be able to access the new pricing “in the next week or two.” Promotional pricing is scheduled to expire on 4/30/2025.

$399 Pixel 9 Promotion Launched

In conjunction with the annual plan update rollout, US Mobile is offering a 128GB Pixel 9 smartphone for $399 to new lines who sign up for either the Starter or Premium annual plan. Each account is limited to two devices. The promotion officially begins April 4. Current customers who have been with US Mobile on any plan excluding Light, Custom, Kosher, and Talk and Text only can also buy the phone for $399 with no plan commitment required. The discounted Pixel pricing is an offer similar to what Mint Mobile has run. US Mobile implies that once the phones are sold out that's it for good.

Flex Plan Discontinued

US Mobile has discontinued its Flex plan, an annual option priced at $17.50 per month that included 10GB of high-speed data. According to the company, the plan was seeing declining adoption as customers opted for other plans instead. US Mobile continues to offer a pooled monthly data plan with 10GB of 5G data for $20/month. It’s likely that customers didn’t find the $2.50 monthly savings with the Flex plan over the pooled plan to be worth the annual commitment. Existing Flex subscribers can remain on the plan without any changes.

Multi-Network Feature Expanded

In another notable update, US Mobile expanded its Multi-Network feature, which allows customers to use multiple carrier networks on a single device. Users can now add up to two additional networks instead of one to their devices, improving coverage and redundancy. This effectively allows subscribers to have AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon coverage all on the same device and on the same plan. Using the feature does require each line on the device to have a separate phone number.

The user interface for managing Multi-Network has also been redesigned. The new dashboard layout emphasizes network status over line management and includes better usage tracking, including domestic versus international data use.

Multi-Network remains in free beta through April 15. After that date, pricing will be introduced and the feature will become available to Starter plan users for the first time.

Reddit users are also stating that iPhone customers on iOS 18.5 Beta 1 finally get an AT&T carrier bundle to use with US Mobile. The bundle allow RCS messaging, Visual Voicemail, and group texting to work and the 5G+ icon to light up.

US Mobile has put out a promotional video to highlight some of the plan updates. You can watch the video below.

Editor's Take

US Mobile's Unlimited Dark Star offers are some of the industries best valued plans available. You won't find more data and features with a plan on AT&T's network for less money for single lines than you get with US Mobile, with Cricket Wireless being an arguable exception. Cricket Wireless offers a truly unlimited 5G data plan for $25/month to BYOD customers and it is only available as an annual plan option. However, Cricket's plan does not include hotspot usage, is for single lines only and video streaming is limited to 480p. You can see just how favorable US Mobile's plans are to other options on the market by using BestMVNO's phone plan finder tool.

If you're considering one of US Mobile’s updated annual plans, keep in mind that the company has a history of changing plan terms shortly after launch—something that happened with the rollout of its truly unlimited Dark Star plan. US Mobile is also known for missing its own feature launch deadlines, often pushing them back. If these factors matter to you, it may be wise to wait a few days after a plan or feature launches before committing to an annual plan.
