Tello Mobile is a Sprint MVNO that allows its subscribers to custom build their own phone plans. The wireless provider launched a new promotion today. New subscribers who custom build their Tello phone plan to have 1GB of LTE data will get double data on that plan for a time period of one year.

This offer is for a limited time only. Tello has not specified how long it will be available for. It is available to new customers only. For previous offers, Tello has stated to BestMVNO that their promos were only available to those who have never had a Tello account before. I believe this promo will work the same way but have reached out to Tello for clarification. (Update:3/5/19 - Tello confirmed to BestMVNO that it is only available to new customers who have not been previous subscribers.) If it's like the other promos, as an example, it means if you canceled your Tello subscription say 6 months ago, you won't qualify for this offer because you previously had an account with Tello.
Tello says that this offer is available for any plan combination that contains 1GB of 4G LTE data. The best plan combination is probably one that includes unlimited talk, text, and data with the first 1GB of data at LTE data speeds. Tello sells that plan for $14/month. If you signup for that plan now, you'll get 2GB of data at 4G LTE data speeds for the next 12 months. The plan also includes unlimited calling to Canada, Mexico, and China. Mobile hotspot is also included, taxes and fees cost extra.
If you don't want unlimited talk, there are a few other data plan combinations you can choose from to get the bonus data. The other options are priced as follows:
- Data only plan, $9/month
- 100 minutes, $10/month
- 200 minutes, $11/month
- 300 minutes, $12/month
- 500 minutes, $13/month
A word of caution. If you do signup for this promotion, be sure to choose your plan wisely. Tello says that if you later decide you want to upgrade or downgrade your plan, you will lose the bonus data, even if you keep a plan combination that has 1GB of high-speed data.
