If you have a T-Mobile prepaid plan that you plan on sticking with for a while, this offer is for you.

T-Mobile is currently offering a free smartphone to those who purchase a prepaid refill card priced $100 or more. Unfortunately, this is a limited time in store only promotion, probably to attempt to upsell you on items once you are in store, or to make the offer a little less easy for everyone to get.

If you don't need a new phone, this offer is probably still worth checking out as you can probably resell some of those devices to put a few extra dollars in your wallet. Be aware, that often times free phone offers like this require you to pay at least sales tax on the device that is being given away.

T-Mobile Prepaid Plan Highlights

All of T-Mobile's prepaid plans include unlimited talk, text and data with the specified amounts at high speeds. Wi-Fi calling is also included, as is mobile hotspot and music unlimited.

If you are in the market for a new cell phone plan and want a free phone, here's what T-Mobile can offer you:

  • $50/month - 10GB high speed data, $80 for two lines and $20 for each additional line up to 5 lines total.
  • Simply Prepaid $45 - 4GB high speed data + 50MB data roaming.
  • Simply Prepaid $55 - 6GB high speed data + 100MB data roaming.
  • T-Mobile One Prepaid - unlimited LTE data with hotspot at 3G speeds. 200 MB of data roaming included.

Like all unlimited data plans, there is a data prioritization policy in place for the T-Mobile One Prepaid plan.  Those who consume more than 50 GB of data in a month may have their data speeds temporarily slowed down during times of heavy network traffic.

T-Mobile also sells a pay as you go prepaid plan which lacks the benefits that many of the other prepaid plans offer. The pay-go plan starts at $3/month and includes a combination of up to 30 text messages or voice minutes.
