It was only weeks ago that ROK Mobile introduced some new cell phone plans. Yet in the past 24 hours the Sprint and Verizon MVNO has revamped their phone plan lineup again.
The new lineup mostly impacts the Sprint side of ROK Mobile, and the changes are ones that may certainly grab your attention.
The real looker of the bunch is the new $45 plan that includes unlimited talk, text and 4G LTE data. The plan also comes with 24/7/365 roadside assistance and includes "mobile optimized data." ROK Mobile has not specified what "mobile optimized data" means, but based on what other Sprint MVNO's offer, it's probably safe to assume that video, audio and gaming streams will be limited in resolution and bitrate. Like all other providers, data speeds will likely be temporarily reduced once a certain amount of high speed data gets consumed in a month, a practice that the carriers refer to as data prioritization. In the case of Sprint and it's MVNO's, the data prioritization threshold is set at 23 GB.
In addition to the new unlimited LTE data plan, ROK Mobile has eliminated one of it's previous offerings as well as updated the pricing and features of several others. A summary of ROK Mobile's new Sprint based plan lineup with the changes highlighted follows below:

ROK Mobile has eliminated 3 other unlimited plans, one priced at $30/month that included 3 GB of high speed data, another priced at $40/month that included 5 GB of high speed data and a $50 plan that included 8 GB of high speed data.
All of ROK Mobile's new and updated phone plans have generally hit the mark in terms of value. The new unlimited 4G LTE data plan compares favorably to others in that category. Those who are already ready to jump ship to the new unlimited plan should use caution until it can be verified among other things, what exactly "mobile optimized unlimited LTE data" means.
As far as the Verizon plan lineup goes, a few minor changes have been made. The $60 plan with 10 GB of data has been eliminated and all plans now include roadside assistance and can be bought directly through the ROK Mobile website, whereas previously they were said to be available only through dealers. The best valued Verizon MVNO ROK Mobile plan still stands at $30/month for unlimited talk, text and data with the first 3 GB at 4G LTE speeds which may be limited to 5 Mbps up, and 2 Mbps down.
In addition to these changes, ROK Mobile has announced that it will soon be launching new plans on a GSM network, which of course means either AT&T or T-Mobile.
