Those of you that are Google Project Fi customers may want to make a push to get your friends and family to sign up for the service. Just in time for the holidays, the Google owned MVNO has announced a new referral program that it is calling Fi It Forward.
Through the Fi It Forward program, those of you that successfully refer a friend to the service will receive either a Chromecast or Moto X4.
To get get a free Chromecast, all you have to do is refer two people to the service. To get a Moto X4 you have to make 7 referrals.
Google is also publicly keeping track of user referrals through a leaderboard. As of this writing, the current referral leader has obtained 12 referrals.
Fi It Forward is scheduled to run through 12/17/17. Upon conclusion of the program, Google will be making a donation of $50,000 to the Information Technology Disaster Resource Center (ITDRC). The ITDRC consists of a team of volunteer technology professionals that helps local communities to recover from the aftermath of a disaster.
About Project Fi
Project Fi is an MVNO that runs on 3 different cellular networks as well as over Wi-Fi. The cellular networks used include T-Mobile, Sprint, and US Cellular.
Service starts at $20/month for unlimited talk and text. Data can be added to any plan at a cost of $10/GB. Any unused data that a customer has in their account at the end of a billing cycle gets refunded in cash.
