Good2Go Mobile has made some big plan changes. The T-Mobile and AT&T powered MVNO is now selling multi-month plans in the same format pioneered by Mint Mobile with 3, 6, and 12-month discount options available. The cheapest plan is an annual plan priced at $5/month for unlimited talk, text, and data with the first 1GB available each month at up to 5G data speeds before throttling. Dennis Bournique of prepaidcompare.net shared the multi-month plan changes with BestMVNO. According to social media posts from Good2Go Mobile, the multi-month plan options went into effect around August 14.
In addition to the new multi-month plan options, Good2Go Mobile has also lowered the rates of its monthly plans by up to $5/month and added some new plans. The cheapest monthly plan also includes unlimited talk, text, and data with 1GB of data at up to 5G data speeds before throttling. The plan is priced at $10/month with a $5 autopay discount applied. Previously it was available for $15/month after a $5/month autopay discount. Prior to the update, a $10/month plan was available that only included unlimited talk and text, but that plan has been discontinued.
Good2Go Mobile's Updated Plans Detailed
Below is a table highlighting Good2Go Mobile's monthly, and multi-month plan prices.
1-Month | 3-Month | 6-Month | 12-Month | |
---|---|---|---|---|
1GB | $10 | $9 | $7 | $5 |
3GB | $15 | $14 | $12 | $10 |
5GB | $25 | $24 | $22 | $20 |
10GB | $30 | $29 | $27 | $25 |
15GB | $35 | $34 | $32 | $30 |
20GB | $45 | $44 | $42 | $40 |
30GB | $50 | $49 | $47 | $45 |
*All plans require autopay billing to be enabled to get the prices shown. This includes the multi-month plans. Autopay billing users get a $5/month discount on monthly plans and a $5 discount on the total prepaid price of a multi-month discount plan. So as an example, if you prepaid for a year of service on the 1GB plan you'd pay $60 or an average cost of $5/month with autopay billing enabled, without autopay the plan would be $65 or $5.42/month.
The plans all include unlimited talk, text, and data with the specified amount of data shown available at up to 5G data speeds each month before throttling to 2G data speeds. Taxes and fees are extra. SIM cards ship through Good2Go Mobile with free shipping. Activation is also free. Alternatively, plans can also be activated with eSIM on a compatible phone.
Good2Go Mobile's Old Plans
Prior to the plan updates described above, Good2Go Mobile's old plans were priced as follows:
- $10/month - unlimited talk & text only
- $15/month - 1GB
- $20/month - 2GB
- $25/month - 3GB
- $30/month - 6GB
- $35/month - 10GB
- $45/month - 20GB
As you can see, plan values have largely been improved, however, over the last several years Good2Go Mobile has repeatedly offered double data on its plans for new customers. Most recently, the MVNO advertised double data offers for 6 months for new customers on its now discontinued rate plans with 2GB, 3GB, and 6GB of data. A couple of years ago, BestMVNO reported that Good2Go Mobile made double data offers permanent for all customers including new and old.
The Multi-Month Discount Plan Trend Continues
If it seems like every wireless provider wants to have multi-month plan discount options, its because they do. Several providers have recently added them to their plan lineups. Airvoice added them last summer, while Unreal Mobile just refreshed theirs. Days ago, Cricket Wireless also announced new multi-month discount options. BestMVNO's multi-month discount plan comparison page shows there are now around a dozen providers offering multi-month discount plans.
Given that T-Mobile has agreed to acquire Mint Mobile and its two million subscribers for up to $1.35 billion pending regulatory approval, we should probably expect multi-month discount plans to continue to flood the market.
Sorry, misread.
I see, monthly 1gb plan is $10 AFTER $5 autopay discount.
Makes much more sense.
Still have those other questions.
So in re to the 1GB softcapped plan:
It is $5/monthly (+ taxes/fees) with autopay discount when purchased/ paid monthly
&
$60 annually (+ taxes/fees) with autopay discount ($65 without autopay) paid one time.
SO
I don’t get why you’d lock into annual plan unless you’re afraid the price will increase?
Am I misunderstanding something?
Taxes/fees for me = $26 for annual 1gb plan so no savings there.
Curious if a “month” is actual same date every month or 30 days. Is a “year’ 360 days or 365?
I’d love to see a “$5″/month (& annual plans at that price point or less) comparison!
Any that include taxes & fees?
Data amount and hard or soft cap?
Definition of “month” and “year”
