Cox Communications today announced that Cox Mobile customers can now get multi-line discounts on its Gig Unlimited plan. Cox Mobile's unlimited plan is priced at $45/month for a single line and it includes unlimited talk, text, and data with the first 20GB of data available at up to 5G data speeds before throttling to 1.5Mbps download and 750Kbps upload. Mobile hotspot use is permitted.
Cox Mobile customers with multiple unlimited lines will now pay the following prices:
- 2-lines - $80/month, $40/line
- 3-lines - $105/month, $35/line
- 4-lines - $120, $30/line
Taxes and fees cost extra and will vary by location.
The multi-line discounts will apply to both current and new customers. Current customers will automatically see the discounts applied on their next bill.
“Our new multi-line pricing strategy isn’t just a traditional ‘family plan’ – it’s designed to help any customer with multiple lines save money,” said Mark Lawson, executive vice president, chief marketing and sales officer of Cox Communications. “Whether they have children, parents, or friends on their mobile phone plan, they’ll save money each month by switching to Cox Mobile.”
Cox Mobile is available exclusively to Cox Internet subscribers. At the end of August, BestMVNO reported that Cox Mobile released mobile and internet bundle savings. Customers who sign up for both a phone plan and an internet plan from Cox get a $14.99/month discount on their internet plan. The discount is combinable with Cox Mobile's new multi-line unlimited plan rates.
Cox Mobile is only available in 18 states in markets served by Cox Internet. Its wireless plans use the Verizon network for coverage. Cox Mobile launched in January 2023. Plans and prices largely mirror those offered by the two largest cable-owned MVNOs, Spectrum Mobile and Xfinity Mobile.
