Tello Mobile has relaunched a promo. New customers can get Tello's flagship unlimited plan for $15/month for their first three months of service. Normally priced at $25/month, this plan includes:
- Unlimited talk and text
- 35GB of 5G data (deprioritized during network congestion)
- Throttled 2G data speeds after 35GB used in a billing cycle
- 5GB hotspot
- Unlimited calling to over 60 countries
Taxes and fees cost extra. Offer ends 3/17/25.
(Update: The offer was brought back on 6/10/25 and is expected to run at least until 7/9/25)
Tello Mobile is a wireless provider that uses T-Mobile's network for coverage. So this offer may be good to try out if you are a T-Mobile fan but don't want to pay T-Mobile prices for service. However, if you need truly unlimited data with no throttling, you might want to skip this one as Tello doesn't offer truly unlimited 5G data plans.
What Happens After the Trial?
After the three month trial is up you can continue on with the plan, switch to one of Tello's other popular plans shown below, or port on out to another provider. Here's what Tello says are its three other most popular plans:
- $10/month - 2GB 5G data
- $14/month - 5GB 5G data
- $19/month - 10GB 5G data
Unlike Tello's flagship plan, the plans shown above do not include unlimited 2G data speeds. Once you run out of data that's it until your next billing cycle or until you add a top-up. Data top-ups start at $5 for 1GB and do not rollover.
Tello's offer is in the mold of Mint Mobile. Mint Mobile pioneered three month discounted trial plans for new customers with an emphasis on the $15/month price point. However, a key difference here is that Tello does not require you to prepay for three months of service in advance like Mint Mobile does. You'll pay $15 each month with Tello instead of $45 up front like you do with Mint. However, unlike Tello, Mint Mobile is currently offering a truly unlimited data plan trial for that same price. If you don't mind the 3 month plan prepayment, Mint Mobile's deal would seem to be the better offer. If you prefer to pay monthly or don't qualify for Mint's deal, you can pick it up Tello's trial here.
Just like Mint it’s not $15/mo. For me it would be $18 and some change after fees and taxes. 5GB hotspot is low for a Cadillac plan. Still, decent offer I suppose.
