Cricket Wireless is once again selling the 32GB iPhone 6s for $99.99. The sale price is for new customers that port in a number from anywhere other than AT&T. New customer pricing is regularly set at $199.99. The offer is said to be a repeat of a deal that Cricket Wireless previously had for the Black Friday 2018 holiday shopping season.
Promo Specifics
To qualify as a new customer eligible for this deal there must be at least 90 days passed since you last subscribed to Cricket Wireless. Those who purchase and activate the phone in a Cricket Wireless store will be subjected to a $25 activation fee. Furthermore, customers who activate in-store may be charged a $3 customer assistance fee. To avoid both fees you can purchase the phone online and activate service on your own. Those who purchase the iPhone with buyer's remorse will have up to 7 days to return it. Returned phones are subjected to a $25 return fee.
Sale pricing is only available with the purchase of a phone plan priced $30 or higher. Eligible plans include:
Eligible Phone Plans
- $30/month - 2GB of data at high speeds
- $40/month ($35 with autopay) - 5GB of data at high speeds (Limited time bonus offer: this plan comes with 10GB of data when purchased at Walmart)
- $55/month ($50 with autopay) - unlimited LTE data with speeds limited to 3 Mbps
- $60/month ($55 with autopay) - unlimited LTE data with no LTE speed cap limitations
Unless specified, all Cricket Wireless plans include unlimited talk, text, and data with the specified amount of data at high speeds. Cricket Wireless considers high-speed data to be data with a maximum download speed of 8 Mbps. Both the $50 and $60 plans include unlimited texting to 37 countries. Both plans also include unlimited talk, text, and data access while traveling in either Mexico or Canada. Video streaming on the two plans is limited to 1.5 Mbps.
The offer will be available until 4/4/2019.
Current Cricket Wireless customers can get the iPhone 6s for $199.99 as long as they are on a plan priced $30 or higher. Current subscribers are only allowed to upgrade their phones once every 90 days. Subscribers who upgrade have to pay a $25 upgrade fee for both online and in-store upgrades. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to avoid this frivolous fee.
Keep in mind, if you buy the phone with the intentions of using it on another carrier or MVNO it will be locked to Cricket Wireless until you use it on the network for at least 6 months. After 6 months you can request an unlock code from Cricket Wireless.
