Ultra Mobile has released a new phone plan called Unlimited+. It's not yet available on the Ultra Mobile website but if it interests you, it should be available through your local Ultra Mobile dealer. The new plan includes unlimited data with the first 60GB available at up to 5G data speeds before throttling to 2G data speeds. Up to 20GB of the plan's data allotment can be used for mobile hotspot. Like all Ultra Mobile phone plans, it's available for purchase by the month, for 3-months, 6-months or 12 months in advance. Pricing options for the plan are as follows with the average monthly cost highlighted in bold:

Ultra Mobile Unlimited+ Plan Pricing Options

  • $59 - pay by the month option
  • $56 - 3-month option, $168 due up front
  • $55 - 6-month option, $330 due up front
  • $50 - 12-month option, $600 due up front

The plan also comes with WiFi calling and texting, unlimited talk to over 80 countries, unlimited global text messaging, a monthly $10 international calling credit to call countries not included in the 80+ that are free and a one time $10 international roaming credit.

Ultra Mobile offers one other plan that it calls "Unlimited." It differs from the Unlimited+ plan in that it only includes 40GB of high-speed data before throttling to 2G data speeds and 10GB of mobile hotspot. The plan also only includes a one time $5 international roaming credit and a monthly $5 international calling credit. Pricing for the plan averages out to be $10/month cheaper than Unlimited+ across all pricing options. Both the Unlimited and Unlimited+ plans offer autopay discounts. Both plans limit video streaming to a resolution of 480p. 2G throttled data speeds top out at a maximum of 128Kbps.

Ultra Mobile is a sister brand to Mint Mobile. Both brands focus on multi-month plan offerings with Ultra Mobile's point of differentiation being that it focuses on subscribers international calling needs. Mint Mobile focuses more on the cheap data market.
