A reader left a comment today informing me that Total Wireless has increased the amount of data included with its family share plans.  The increases were not small, and they nearly doubled the amount of data included with each plan.

Summary Of Total Wireless Family Share Plan Changes

Here's what's changed with Total Wireless's Family share plans:

  • The $60 plan ($57 with auto pay billing) that's good for up to 2 lines/devices went from 8 GB of shared data to 15 GB.
  • The $85 plan ($80.70 with auto pay) that's good for up to 3 lines/devices jumped to 20 GB of shared data up from 12 GB.
  • The $100 plan, ($95 with auto pay) that's good for up to 4 lines/devices jumped to 25 GB of shared data up from 15 GB.

All plans include unlimited talk and text, but taxes do cost extra.

In addition to these changes, Total Wireless also increased the amount of data included with it's data add on package.  Subscribers can now add an additional 5 GB of shareable data to their plan for just $10/month.  If the data goes unused, it gets rolled over month after month.  Previously 3 GB of data was included as part of the package.

A global calling card add on is also still available priced at $10.  With the add on, subscribers can call internationally with rates starting at 2.5¢ per minute.  Any unused balance on the card carries over until the next month.

Total Wireless sells two other single line plans, that for the moment remain unchanged.  One is priced at $25/month for unlimited talk and text, while the other is $35/month for unlimited talk and text with 5 GB of data.

With the plan changes, Verizon MVNO Total Wireless becomes an even better value as long as potential subscribers are willing to endure sub-par customer support as Total Wireless is a TracFone owned brand.  The TracFone owned family of brands are known for having poor customer service.

When you sign up for a 2 line family plan on total wireless does each line get 15 GB of data or is it split for 7.5 for each line?

I have the single line for $35 that just renewed yesterday and they gave me 5GB extra but didn’t charge me more. So I have 10GB of data instead of just 5 this month
