netTALK Wireless has announced an update to the only cell phone plan that it sells. For just $40/month with autopay billing enabled, subscribers can get unlimited talk, text and 4G LTE data. Without autopay enabled, the plan is priced at $45/month. Previously netTALK included 10 GB of 4G LTE data with the plan.
Who Is This Plan For?
netTALK Wireless is a T-Mobile business line reseller, so those that are sole proprietors or running their own business, this plan is for you. Besides including unlimited talk, text and 4G LTE data, international calling to Mexico and Canada is included. The plan also includes full service roaming with data access while traveling in Mexico and Canada and talk and text is available while traveling in Puerto Rico.
Since the plan is essentially T-Mobile One repackaged, unlimited LTE data means that once you reach 32 GB of data used in a month, you are subjected to T-Mobile's network prioritization policy. This means that if you go over the threshold, you may see your speeds temporarily slowed during times of heavy network congestion.
The plan also features unlimited music and video streaming from select providers that does not count against your high speed data prioritization threshold. Some of the streaming partners include YouTube, Netflix, HBO NOW, Hulu, iHeartRadio, Apple Music, Pandora, and Spotify.
There is no word at the moment if the newly announced DIGITS platform will be available with netTALK.
Deal: Get A New Phone And Three Months Of Service For $165
For a limited time, netTALK Wireless is running a special promotion for those that port in or activate an additional line coming from either AT&T, Sprint or Verizon. The promotion is for 3 months of service with the purchase of a brand new phone for $165. Subtracting the cost of 3 months of service without the promotion ($120), from the promotional price, tells us that you will be charged $45 for the phone with this deal. The phone being offered is a dual LTE SIM unlocked Nuu Mobile X4. A quick look on Amazon shows that the phone is currently selling for $169.99 so you'd be saving $125 if you were interested in that phone and service with netTALK. But is this really a good deal? Let's take a quick look at the phone's specifications and you can decide for yourself.
Nuu Mobile X4 Specifications
- 5" 1280px720p touchscreen
- MediaTek 1.3 GHz Quad-Core processor
- 16 GB of internal storage expandable with a microSD card
- 1 GB of RAM
- 13 MP rear camera
- 5 MP front facing camera
- 2250 mAh battery
- Android Lollipop
For my money, the features are a little bit too yesterday for me. Some may find it a better value to pick up a low end Motorola with more modern features.
netTALK Wireless's updated plan is essentially the same as what Teltik is now offering. I’ve had their service for 2 years. it’s a great price but you are at a disadvantage with them when it comes to buying phones from t-mobile website and store. when you have service with nettalk there are only a handful of “authorized users” that are named under the nettalk account under T-Mobile (the service is t-mobile). I imagine these are all corporate officers that work directly at nettalk. Even though you are able to have your own number, it’s considered a “wholesale” account from t-mobile’s perspective and anyone not listed under the nettalk t-mobile account (all of nettalk’s customers) cannot walk into a t-mobile store or go on t-mobile.com and be able to buy a t-mobile phone even though u are using t-mobile’s voice network. It’s insane. today 5-24-18 service went out at 6AM and as of almost 4 hours later service is still unavailable. i’m almost ready to go elsewhere. I’ve had issues with cell signal with a newer phone in areas on top of what i typed above. there is a lot to like about the service but for slightly higher cost per month i’m just about ready to jump.
Hi.
I am interested in this netTALK plan. Would I be able to use this with the new phone as well as my Samsung tablet? I don’t know much about wireless, wifi and thethering. (sp?)
Thanks!
wish i could get a similar plan as an individual…
