Mint Mobile launched a new promo today offering all of its three-month plans for $15/month to new customers. That's a savings of 50% off for customers that elect to sign up for Mint Mobile's "Unlimited" plan which includes 35GB of high-speed data before throttling. The promo is being supported by two new video ads (update: one is now airing on TV) that of course feature actor Ryan Reynolds, who also has an ownership stake in the brand.
Mint Mobile's $15/Month For Every 3-Month Plan Offer Fine Print
Mint Mobile's $15/month offer for any 3-month plan is scheduled to be available until July 5, 2022, or while supplies last. It is for new customers only and is available online only at mintmobile.com. Mint Mobile reserves the right to change the offer at any time without warning.
The following plans are now on sale for $15/month for three months of service for new Mint Mobile customers:
- 10GB - reg $20/month
- 15GB - reg $25/month
- 35GB - reg $30/month, limited to 5GB of hotspot, video streams at 480p
All plans include unlimited talk, text, and data, with data speeds throttled once the stated high-speed data limit has been reached. The plans also include unlimited calling to Mexico and Canada. Unless stated otherwise, all plans include hotspot up to each plan's total high-speed data allotment. Taxes and fees cost extra. The regular rates shown are what new customers would normally pay for 3 months and what customers would pay to renew their plans for 12 months.
After the trial rates are up, subscribers can elect to renew their plans for an additional 3, 6, or 12 months or switch to another plan altogether. Renewal rates are shown below.
3-Mo | 6-Mo | 12-Mo | |
10GB | $35/mo | $25/mo | $20/mo |
15GB | $45/mo | $35/mo | $25/mo |
35GB | $40/mo | $35/mo | $30/mo |
Your eyes don't deceive you. Mint charges the same or more in some cases for its 15GB plan than it does for the 35GB "unlimited" plan.
Mint Mobile's Video Ads Attack Big Wireless For Raising Prices Due To "Inflation"
Mint Mobile's two new video ads simultaneously highlight its $15/mo for any plan deal while also attacking big wireless for raising prices. AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon have all recently raised prices either on select plans or by adding new fees.
Mint Mobile's new video ads may or may not be destined to air on TV. Both are cut for TV though with run times of 30 seconds each.
One ad is called "Deflategreat" while the other is called "Record Deflation." Both ads use humor to point out how big wireless is raising prices due to inflation but Mint Mobile has elected to do the opposite. Ryan Reynolds says that Mint Mobile is deflating/lowering the costs of all of its plans to just $15/month. You can watch both ads down below. One may be a little more TV-friendly than the other.

Mint Mobile Deflategreat Ad
Ryan Reynolds is featuring the more tame "Record Deflation" ad on his YouTube channel which may make it a more likely candidate to air on a TV near you. Update 06/16/21: Record Deflation is now airing on TV as an ad called "Opposite of Big Wireless". It has had close to 100 airings as of the time of this writing.
Mint Mobile was launched in 2016 and is an MVNO of T-Mobile.
