MetroPCS, a T-Mobile MVNO, announced today that there's 500 MB of more data headed your way for the $40 and $50 single line plans, as well as to the economy $100 Family of Four plan. To get these new deals, you do, get this, nothing! The new data allotments have automatically been added to your plans, and to summarize in terms of LTE data allotted, the $40 plan will now come with 1 GB, the $50 plan will come with 3 GB and the $100 Family of Four plan with have 1 GB of LTE per line. If you're interested in the family plan, it may be a better value for you to jump on to the identically priced (except for taxes) T-Mobile Family Share plan which includes 2.5 GB per line. You better act fast though as that special offer from T-Mobile expires 9/3/2014.
More data isn't all that MetroPCS announced today, but more retail stores. In the last year and a half the MVNO said they've increased their P.O.S. footprint from 6,000 to 11,000 as well as their availability in metropolitan areas from 15 to 55 markets. The newest retail locations include Chattanooga (TN), Chicago (IL), Kansas City (MO), Milwaukee (WI), Minneapolis-St.Paul (MN), Norfolk-Portsmouth-Newport News (VA), Richmond-Petersburg (VA), Salt Lake City (UT), St. Louis (MO), and Yakima-Pasco-Richland-Kennewick (WA).
