MetroPCS is currently running a Buy One Get One free smartphone offer for Black Friday. The deal is running now through November 30th and it is for in store purchases only. As part of the deal you can buy any phone at a participating MetroPCS store but your choice of free devices is limited to one of several low end phones that include the following:
- Samsung Galaxy Core Prime
- Kyocera Hydro WAVE
- LG Leon LTE
- ZTE Obsidian
Fine Print
The free phone you select must be equal to or of lesser value than the purchased phone. A new line of activation or phone upgrade is required to get the BOGO. Both phones must be activated on the same account, at the same time and location and at least one line must be a new line of service.
Analysis
It doesn't seem to be much of a deal once you read into the fine print, but still it could be a good deal for those of you who just need a basic smartphone and are interested in T-Mobile service at cheaper than T-Mobile prices. MetroPCS offers four cell phone plans and they all feature essentially the same perks as T-Mobile's plans. All MetroPCS plans include mobile hotspot, unlimited music streaming that does not count against your data cap, and a video streaming "Data Maximizer" which is similar to T-Mobile's Binge On except that streaming video still counts against your high speed data cap.
MetroPCS's four cellphone plans also include unlimited talk, text and data with taxes and fees included and are priced as follows:
