Lyca Mobile is pitching multiple offers for February, as detailed in the latest prepaid report the firm Wave7 Research sent out to its subscribers. Lyca Mobile's website marketing copy says that February's forecast is a 100% chance of an unlimited connection with a price of $18/month highlighted. The plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data with the first 40GB of data each month available at high-speed before throttling for the remainder of the billing cycle. It also comes with 15GB of hotspot, unlimited calling to 100 countries, and roaming in Canada and Mexico with 5GB of data to use in either country. The normal price of the plan is $49/month. Customers who sign up for the plan will receive the promotional pricing for a period of 9 months.

The MVNO is also offering its 18GB plan for $10/month for 6 months. This plan also comes with 10GB of hotspot, talk and text to 100 countries, and talk and text usage while traveling in Canada and Mexico. The regular price of this plan is $33/month.

Both offers are available for new lines only and require auto-renewal at sign up. Unlimited international calling is only available to the first 10 dialed numbers per country. No end dates have been given for either offer, but Lyca has been regularly running aggressive offers like this for a long time now. Taxes and fees are extra. Lyca Mobile charges a 5% "regulatory recovery fee" for plan purchases made online.

Editor's Take

These are both excellent promotional offers for service on AT&T’s network. On price alone, they’re among the strongest promos currently running on that network, with only US Mobile surpassing them in certain scenarios.

US Mobile’s Unlimited Starter annual plan is available for $15/month and includes unlimited 5G data with 20GB of hotspot, international calling, and 1GB of international roaming data, with taxes and fees included, but the tradeoff is paying annually ($180 upfront). Lyca’s $18 promo is a true monthly plan and offers a large high-speed bucket (40GB) for those who prefer not to prepay a year. Below is a table comparing Lyca's 40GB plan offer against US Mobile's.

At the $10/month price point, I’m not aware of a better promotional offer on the AT&T network that combines this much data with international calling benefits. For the right customer, especially someone who can live within the promo term and reevaluate later, this is the kind of deal that can legitimately cut a phone bill in half.

Lyca Mobile's Network Switch & Retail Strategy

Lyca Mobile is an MVNO that uses AT&T's network for coverage, but that hasn't always been the case. For years, Lyca Mobile had always been exclusively a T-Mobile MVNO. However, in September 2024, BestMVNO reported that Lyca would be switching to the AT&T network within a year's time. That came to fruition and Wave7 Research noted that since September 2025, Lyca Mobile has been exclusively activating new customers on that network.

Jeff Moore, Principal of Wave7 Research says that Lyca Mobile uses a different strategy to acquire customers than nearly all other US MVNOs. The brand is sold in many stores that are not in the wireless business and carry no other wireless brands which include convenience stores and clothing shops. Moore highlighted this in a social media post from dated 2/13/2025.

Lyca Mobile also appears regularly in the Wave7 Research quarterly prepaid dealer survey. The latest survey, found the brand in 10 of 30 dealers surveyed and was a top seller in two of them.

Lyca Mobile was sold at one-third of multi-carrier dealers surveyed in 4Q25.  It is also sold via some unconventional retailers not focused on telecom, such as convenience stores and phone repair shops.” –Jeff Moore, Principal of Wave7 Research
