Gen Mobile is the latest wireless provider to come out with an offer to help its subscribers cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. New and existing customers on a plan priced $15 or higher will receive an extra 5GB of high-speed data with their plan at no extra charge. New customers will get the extra 5GB of data for their first month of service if they sign up by May 15, 2020. It may take up to 5 days after subscribing for the data to appear in a new subscriber's account. Existing customers will automatically have the extra data added to their plan and it will be good for 30 days.
In addition to the bonus data, Gen Mobile has also extended the grace period for free texting for customers that are unable to pay their bills on time. Normally, if a customer misses their bill payment Gen Mobile will allow them to continue to send and receive text messages for up to 15 days after the missed payment. The grace period has been extended to 30 days. The texting offered during the grace period is for SMS only, it is not for MMS image, video or group messaging.

Local and federal taxes cost extra.
All plans include unlimited talk and text and unlimited international talk and text to over 100 countries. They also include a $2 international calling credit to call countries that are not included in the list of free international calling countries. Mobile hotspot usage is permitted. Data is hard-capped. Customers that run out of data during a 30-day billing cycle can add more priced at $5 per 500MB.
