Flex Mobile has launched a new promotion that mirrors offers typically seen from Mint Mobile and a current deal from Boost Mobile. New subscribers can get a 15GB plan for $15/month when they prepay for three months of service. The plan normally costs $27/month when purchased in three-month increments, or $29/month when paid monthly.
After the initial three months, customers can continue service by paying monthly, prepaying for another three months, or switching to an annual plan that averages out to $25/month ($300/year). Other plans are also available, including:
- A 5GB plan for as low as $14.08/month (when prepaid annually)
- A 25GB plan for as low as $37.42/month (when prepaid annually)
Flex Mobile is currently an eSIM-only provider. To sign up, you must have an eSIM-compatible phone that works on the T-Mobile network. All plans include unlimited talk and text. After using your high-speed data allowance, speeds are reduced to a maximum of 128Kbps. The provider doesn’t clarify whether hotspot usage is allowed or what video streaming resolution is supported.
A graphic on their homepage states "no hidden fees," and "What you see is what you pay!" I understood that to mean taxes and fees would be included in the price. However, when I added this promo plan to my shopping cart, an additional 10% or so in taxes was added on to the plan's total cost.

Customers who aren't happy with the service may be eligible for a refund within 7 days of plan purchase. However, Flex Mobile's refund policy is rather vague and arbitrary. It reads "Prepaid plans may be refundable within 7 days of purchase. However, not all customers will be granted a refund. If you believe your situation qualifies for a refund, reach out to our support team—we’re happy to help. Refunds take about 7-10 business days, and we’ll keep you updated."
Get Flex MobileIn terms of value, this is a good promo. After the promo ends, it's unfortunate I can't quite say the same about the plan's regular rate. At a price of $25/month when paid for annually there are just too many other choices out there that don't require you to prepay for a year of service in advance and you'll get more data too. For instance, Metro by T-Mobile offers a truly unlimited 5G data plan to BYOD customers for $25/month with taxes and fees included. Tello Mobile and US Mobile offer 35GB plans for the same price, and both also use T-Mobile’s network.
If you're open to other networks, Total Wireless offers a truly unlimited plan on Verizon’s network, and MobileX provides 199GB for $25/month. US Mobile even has a 70GB plan on AT&T’s network at that same price point. Where Flex Mobile may offer some value is with their 5GB plan that's $16/month.
Flex Mobile is a relatively new prepaid wireless provider launched in 2024 by Excess Telecom. Excess Telecom is a Lifeline provider and a former ACP provider that's been in business for several years. Flex Mobile was launched to expand their offerings into the more general prepaid market place.
