MobileX has significantly expanded its wireless services by adding more device options, introducing new service features, and launching support for tablets. The expansion follows similar moves by competitors such as Boost Mobile, Straight Talk, Verizon Prepaid, and Total Wireless, which have added or expanded tablet plan offerings to increase revenue and meet the needs of multi-device users.

New Phones Now Available

MobileX customers can now purchase unlocked Apple and Android devices directly through the company's website. Devices available include newer models such as the iPhone 16 and Samsung Galaxy S25. All devices sold through MobileX come with a 60-day warranty and are shipped with a MobileX SIM kit for easier activation. Financing options, including 0% financing through Affirm for qualified customers, are also available. Customers still have the option to bring their own unlocked devices if they prefer.

Expanded Support for Tablets

MobileX has also introduced support for cellular-enabled tablets such as iPads and Android devices. Although the MobileX app and website currently do not show support for tablets and iPads, the company's founder, Peter Adderton, confirmed that support is now live. The MobileX app’s IMEI checker will recognize a tablet and offer data-only plan options accordingly. Updates to the app and website to more clearly guide users through tablet setup are expected to launch soon.

Tablet plans are offered at the same pricing as MobileX’s custom data plans for phones, starting at $4.08 per month and $2.10/GB. MobileX's "build your own plan" feature allows tablet users to customize their data needs. Additionally, unused purchased data can either be credited back or rolled over into the following month, offering flexibility that traditional wireless plans typically do not.

Adderton also confirmed that smartwatch plans are in development, although a specific release time was not specified.

Updated Pricing for Add-On Features

MobileX has also updated pricing for its XtraOptions add-ons:

  • International Calling (over 100 countries, including Mexico and Canada): $2 per month
  • Premium Caller ID with Advanced Spam Filtering: $2.10 per month
  • Spam Filtering Alone: $0.50 per month
  • Enhanced Visual Voicemail $1.90/month
  • Mexico and Canada talk/text $4.50/month

Currently, these features are somewhat buried within the MobileX app. If you are a personalized access plan user like me, in order to find them you'll have to first go to your access details then click "change your access pricing" followed by "change access starting x date." However, according to Adderton, an app update is scheduled in the coming weeks to bring these add-ons to the app’s homepage, making it easier for customers to find and manage.

MobileX Plan Options

MobileX offers several different plan types, designed for flexibility:

  • Unlimited 10 Plan: $14.88/month, includes 10GB of high-speed data; additional data is $2.10 per GB
  • Standard 199GB Unlimited Plan: $24.88/month, offers unlimited data (throttled to 512Kbps after 199GB) and includes unlimited international calling to over 100 countries.
  • Build Your Own Plan: Customize talk, text, and data separately; talk and text plans start from $3.48/month, data plans from $4.08/month.

(Prices do not include applicable taxes and government surcharges.)

MobileX has updated its AI-based usage forecasting system, which analyzes customer behavior to predict data needs and recommend the most suitable plans. The enhanced AI now delivers forecasts twice as fast and with 50% greater accuracy on average, enabling MobileX to provide personalized plan recommendations for new customers in as little as two to ten days. New customers using the A.I. forecaster will receive a one time credit worth up to $4.88 to apply to their next month's bill.
