Today, Stetson Doggett of BestPhonePlans.net launched a new crowd-sourced cellular coverage mapping tool in conjunction with SpeedSmart. The new tool is available at the website https://coveragemap.com/. The platform initially launched weeks ago as an invite-only beta.

The new mapping tool allows users to contribute to the project by uploading their speed tests taken with the most popular speed testing apps. The map shows download and upload speeds as well as latency for each carrier at a given tested location. The goal of the project is to help consumers better understand which carriers offer the best coverage and data speeds for their particular needs in a given location.

A news release was issued by CoverageMap.com today announcing the public availability of the platform. You can read the release below.

Today marks the official launch of CoverageMap.com, a groundbreaking new platform designed to revolutionize how consumers view and compare cellular coverage.

CoverageMap.com aims to empower consumers to make informed decisions about which mobile service providers are best in their area by providing the most detailed, accurate, up-to-date coverage data available.

"CoverageMap.com was born out of the need for a simple, reliable way to compare cellular coverage," said Stetson Doggett, Co-Founder of CoverageMap.com.

A crowd-sourced platform, community contributors upload speed tests performed in different locations on various devices and service plans. Uploaded speed tests are processed in real-time and immediately displayed on the coverage map, helping to build a map with unprecedented levels of accuracy.

CoverageMap.com gives consumers access to download speeds, upload speeds, ping times, and signal strength for all major carriers in the U.S., offering a more in-depth analysis of a carrier’s true performance in a specific location.

Key features of CoverageMap.com include:

  1. Community-Contributed: Contributors across the U.S. submit speed test results on various cellular networks, helping to build an accurate and up-to-date map of network performance.
  2. Highly Detailed: Visually appealing maps display download speeds, upload speeds, ping times, and signal strength data for all major cellular networks with accuracy down to a single city block.
  3. Powerful Filters: For the first time, users can filter coverage by speed ranges, in addition to by carrier, LTE, 5G, and standalone 5G.
  4. Best Carrier View: The revolutionary Best Carrier view automatically color-codes the map based on which carrier offers the best fastest speeds in each specific hexagon, making it easier than ever for users to see which carrier is best in their area.
  5. Real-Time Updates: All uploaded data is processed in real-time, ensuring users have access to the latest coverage information available.

"We're excited to offer a platform that empowers consumers by providing them with the most accurate and up-to-date coverage information available, helping them make the best decisions when it comes to which mobile providers are right for them," said Trevor Mann, Co-Founder.

CoverageMap.com offers a user-centric approach to understanding and comparing cellular coverage. With its intuitive interface, real-time updates, and focus on community contributions, the platform is set to revolutionize the way users navigate the world of cellular networks."

No signal strength maps unless you pay.
