Cricket Wireless has announced the availability of the new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.  Pricing starts at $999.99 for the 64GB Apple iPhone XS and goes all the way up to $1249 for the 256GB iPhone XS Max.  The 256GB iPhone XS is also available for $1149.99 while the 64GB iPhone XS Max is available for $1099.99.  Current customers must pay a $25 fee to upgrade to any of the devices.

Unfortunately Cricket Wireless's next generation iPhone launch is rather lackluster.  The AT&T owned prepaid brand is not offering any discounts or specials compared to buying the phone elsewhere.   The device is also sold locked to Cricket Wireless and will require you to have it active on the network for at least 6 months before it can be unlocked.  Customers interested in Cricket Wireless service and the iPhone would be better off buying it SIM-free and unlocked directly from Apple as the cost would be the same as buying from Cricket Wireless.  Those who aren't in a hurry to buy the device I imagine will be able to get it at a discount from Cricket a short while down the road.

If you don't require Cricket Wireless as your service provider there are a few good deals available on the phones elsewhere.  Boost Mobile is currently offering $100 off the new iPhones.  US Mobile is giving up to $400 back in the form of monthly account credits to those who bring their own iPhone to their Super LTE network.  Perhaps the best current iPhone offer is from Sprint who is offering the 64GB iPhone Xs for free on an 18 month lease with an eligible trade in.  Eligible trade-ins include the following devices: iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S9, Samsung Galaxy S9+, LG G7 ThinQ, Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy S8+, Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, Samsung Galaxy Note8, Google Pixel 2 and the Google Pixel 2XL.
