Xfinity Mobile has launched a Cyber Monday week deal. Customers who bring their own phones over to the network will receive a $50 Visa Prepaid card. This is an online only deal and of course, it comes with some stipulations.
Xfinity Mobile's BYOD $50 Visa Prepaid Card Offer Fine Print
This offer went live today and is scheduled to be available at least until 12/6/2019. Xfinity Mobile only supports a handful of devices for its BYOD program. Unless you have one of the following devices described below, this offer is not for you.
Eligible Phones
Only select Samsung Galaxy and Apple iPhones can be brought over to the network. The Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+, S9, S9+, S10, S10+ and S10e are eligible as are the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Note 9. All iPhone models starting at the iPhone 6 and newer can be brought over to the network although select iPhone models from another carrier may not work. You can confirm the eligibility of your device by using Xfinity Mobile's IMEI checker.
Are You An Xfinity Internet Customer?
Xfinity Mobile phone plans are only available to Xfinity Mobile internet subscribers. So if you are not an Xfinity Internet subscriber, this BYOD offer is not for you. But if you are an Xfinity Internet subscriber and you have an eligible BYOD here's what you have to do to claim the $50 BYOD Visa Prepaid card:
- You must activate a new line of service and transfer your number to Xfinity Mobile within 30 days of activation
- You must maintain your line of service and keep your account in good standing for a time period of at least 90 days
If you meet those two additional requirements, Xfinity Mobile will ship you a $50 Visa Prepaid card within 16-18 weeks of account and line activation. The $50 Visa Prepaid card expires within 180 days. If you have multiple phones and lines to port in you can get multiple $50 prepaid card credits. There is a maximum of $250 in prepaid card credits allowed per customer/account. All credits will be issued on one prepaid card.
Xfinity Mobile Phone Plans
If you've made up your mind that this offer is for you, Xfinity Mobile offers several phone plans that you can choose from. You can choose either a By-The-Gig shared data plan or an unlimited plan.
By-The-Gig shared data plans are priced as follows:
$12/month - 1GB data
$30/month - 3GB data
$60/month - 10GB data
Customers can have up to 5 lines on a By-The-Gig shared data plan at no extra charge. That means you could get 5 lines with 10GB of total shared data for $60/month.
An unlimited data plan is also available priced at $45/line. The plan includes unlimited data with the first 20GB of data at 4G LTE data speeds before throttling to a maximum of 1.5Mbps download and 750kbps upload. Video streams are limited to a maximum resolution of 480p. The By-The-Gig plan options have video streaming at a default resolution of 720p.
Taxes and fees are extra and not included in the prices shown. Mobile hotspot is supported and allowed with both plan types.
