Walmart Offering Promotional Double Data for Life With Verizon’s $45 Prepaid Plan

Walmart is currently running a promotion where new data plans purchased through the store for Verizon's $45 Prepaid plan can get double data for life as along as the smartphone plan stays active.  The promotion is running through 1/17/16.

This plan normally includes unlimited talk and text with 1GB of data per month.  Under this promotion subscribers get 2GB of data, and if autopay is enabled in their account they'll receive an additional 1GB of data for a total of 3GB of 4G LTE data.

If you check out the Verizon MVNO table you can see that there are MVNOs that offer unlimited talk and text with more data than what Verizon prepaid includes at this price point.  However, those MVNOs have throttled LTE data speeds at approximately 5Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload.  Verizon Prepaid plans include LTE data speeds that are not throttled.  Verizon's prepaid plan also includes unlimited texting to Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.  Bring your own device is supported and if you need to buy a compatible phone Verizon's prepaid wireless store offers a variety of different options, as does Walmart.
