It seems like every carrier and prepaid provider wants to fight hard for your iPhone 6S dollar. Verizon Wireless is one of those carriers and they have announced a device payment option for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus users that allows for an upgrade to the newest iPhone every year. The program allows customers to turn in their old iPhone to upgrade to a new one. In fact you can upgrade to the newest iPhone within 6 months as long as you've paid off at least 50% of the device. Those who already pre-ordered a new iPhone 6s or 6s Plus from the carrier are already enrolled in the program as long as they selected the "Device Payment" option at checkout. If you are not interested in upgrading, you'll still have the option to pay off your phone in 24 "low" monthly payments.
It would be nice to see the prepaid providers and carriers offer special programs and pricing to those own or who are interested in purchasing other smartphones. I suspect profit margins are higher on said devices, although with the iPhone having over a 40% market share in the USA, it's an easy and high volume device for providers to target with promotions.
