Ting Mobile certainly has an interesting take on a new promotion. The MVNO is offering up to $150 back in account credits to those who have their broken phone repaired and activated on Ting. This is the first time that I've heard of such a promotion. For some, the account credits that Ting is offering will more than cover the cost of the phone repair.
Offer Details
To obtain the account credits, Ting asks that you fill out a form on their website. After completion, Ting will contact you and ask you for proof of repair. A photo of your receipt for the repair qualifies as proof.
Once you get approved for the promotional offer, Ting will begin crediting your account with monthly installments of $15. Customers will get awarded a $30, $60, $90, $120, or $150 credit based on the cost of the repair. The cost of the repair will be rounded up to whichever account credit denomination covers the repair. So if your repair costs $75, Ting will award you with a $90 account credit paid off over 6 monthly installments of $15.
Both new and current customers are eligible for the offer. For current customers to take advantage of it, they will need to activate a new line of service with the repaired phone. Accounts that have previously received Ting credits for past promos are not eligible for this offer.
Refer A Friend Win A Nintendo Switch
Those who refer a friend to Ting by March 31 are eligible for the chance to win one of three Nintendo switch bundles. Winners will be announced during the week of April 8, 2019. The Nintendo switch bundle will include the following:
- Nintendo Switch Console
- Dock
- Joy-Con (L) and Joy-Con
- Two Joy-Con straps
- One Joy-Con grip
- HDMI cable
- AC adapter
- Download code for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Of course, referring a friend to Ting gets you more than the chance to win a Nintendo Switch bundle. Those who successfully refer a friend will receive a $50 account credit for their first successful referral, and a $25 credit for every referral thereafter. The friend that gets referred will also get a $25 account credit that can be used to pay their bill or to purchase a phone from Ting.
