TextNow has just introduced new family plan discounts.  Those who add two or more lines to an account are eligible to save up to $15 per line.  The size of the discount varies based on which plan a customer subscribes to.

TextNow Family Plan Discounts

TextNow's family plan discounts are priced as follows:

  • Tall Plan - 1.5GB of 4G LTE data priced at $19.99 for a single line, no discount for additional lines
  • Grande Plan - 3GB of 4G LTE data priced at $27.99 for a single line, and $20.99 for each additional line
  • Venti Plan - 5GB of 4G LTE data priced at $39.99 for a single line, and $29.99 for each additional line
  • Quattro Plan - 10GB of 4G LTE data priced at $59.99 for a single line, and $44.99 for each additional line

TextNow says that the prices shown include taxes and fees.  All plans also include unlimited talk and text both domestically and to Canada.  Mobile hotspot is unofficially supported.  Those who need it can ask TextNow to enable it for their account and phone.

Bring your own phone is supported and SIM cards are currently free of charge.  SIM cards are normally priced at $5.  Phones are also available for those that need one.  The company's current featured deal is for an LG K3 for $7.99.

TextNow is a company based out of Ontario, Canada with a USA office located in San Francisco, California.  Wireless service is provided over Wi-Fi, with a fallback to either Sprint or T-Mobile's network depending on which SIM card you are using.

Customers can test out the company's Wi-Fi based service free of charge by downloading an app in the iTunes app store or through the Google play store.  A phone number is provided free of charge for use with the app.
