It looks like T-Mobile MVNO Solavei could not survive after its bankruptcy filing and restructuring. The company has announced that effective 12/4/15 it will no longer be offering service and members will need to transfer their number to a new service provider.
To help ease the pain of losing service, T-Mobile is sending out free T-Mobile SIM cards to all Solavei customers. Those who switch to T-Mobile will receive one month of free service on qualifying plans and $10 off every month until June. Switching to T-Mobile may not be the best option for many so I suggest taking a look at my T-Mobile MVNO page to see if you can find yourself a better option for service.
Ting Mobile posted on its blog a special offer for Solavei customers. The Sprint and T-Mobile MVNO says that those who want to join its service can get a free Ting SIM card and a $50 credit. Solavei customers interested in this offer must provide a screenshot of there most recent bill/invoice as well as fill out a form on the Ting website by Wednesday, November 25 at 11:59pm.
Solavei began service in 2012 and its claim to fame was that it offered a high paying referral program in a fashion similar to a pyramid scheme. The pyramid like scheme and increasingly competitive MVNO landscape are what likely led to its demise.
