How Jethro Mobile Plans Work
Jethro Mobile launched in the USA in 2019. The T-Mobile powered MVNO attempts to cater to a wide variety of audiences. They target seniors, kids, customers only desiring limited-use phone plans, and customers who like prepaying for plans several months to a year in advance following Mint Mobile’s wireless in bulk sales strategy. They also offer phone plans somewhat modeled after Tracfone, and short-term plans catering to travelers to the USA.
Jethro Mobile sells a branded phone, the Jethro SC490. It’s a classic candy bar-style phone with a physical numeric keypad. They market the phone to seniors and kids. It has a button that can be programmed to call up to 5 contacts in the event of an emergency. The phone is sold online through the Jethro Mobile website and third-party marketplaces offered online by Walmart and Amazon.

Jethro Mobile’s TracfoneEsque Phone Plans Explained
Jethro Mobile offers some Tracfone-like pay-go plans which they call Simple Plus Plans. They are available to purchase for either 30, 90, 180 or 365 days. Data allotments for each plan are the total amount you get to use for the duration of the plan. It is not a monthly allotment of data. If you run out of data with any of these plans, there is no unlimited 2G “slow” data provided. However, data top-ups are available and we’ll get to those in a minute. But first, here are the available Simple Plus Plans. All plans include unlimited talk and text.
