Mint Mobile has formally announced its Black Friday 2021 seasonal holiday offers. The bulk service provider has brought back through the Mint Mobile website its buy 3 months get 3 months free offer. If you've been an avid reader of BestMVNO or follow along on Twitter, you've likely known this deal has been coming for weeks.
In mid-October, BestMVNO reported that Mint Mobile began to offer buy 3 months get 3 months free on all Mint Mobile plans exclusively through Best Buy stores. The offer's fine print said the deal would be available from 10/10/21 until 1/7/2022. A timeline that clearly ran through the holiday shopping season and hinted at things to come.
Last year, Mint Mobile ran the exact same promotion through its website. The deal launched on November 16th, 2020. So here we are, one year later, almost to the exact day, and the promo is back to no surprise. It's also now available through Target stores.
Some folks actually received early access to the promo through the Mint Mobile website. One BestMVNO Twitter follower with the handle @JSantana319, noted and shared screenshots with BestMVNO that he began seeing the deal on the Mint Mobile website a couple of weeks ago. However, no matter how hard I tried, through the use of multiple browsers on multiple networks, multiple devices, and on multiple days, the offer would not appear for me. So it seems Mint Mobile was highly targeting the offer to select customers perhaps in select regions.
Mint Mobile formally announced its new holiday promotion yesterday with the launch of a new TV commercial. I happened to catch the commercial airing during Sunday afternoon football and shared a clip of it on Twitter. The ad indicated the offer was launching at midnight (11/15/2021).

The website iSpot.tv which tracks advertising on TV now has a full capture of the ad. According to iSpot, it has only aired an extremely limited number of times. You can watch the full ad embedded below. It is Halloween-themed and features a creepy Ryan Reynolds discussing the offer.
A BestMVNO Twitter follower with the handle @ryjb also shared that Mint Mobile has been running the ad through its YouTube channel for several days. It launched on November 11th in the digital channel and has received over 46k views. It is an unlisted video.
Mint Mobile's Buy 3 Get 3 Promo Explained
Mint Mobile's buy 3 months get 3 months free promo is a limited time offer. The deal will run until 1/7/2022 to match the same end date in Best Buy and Target stores. The 3 months free offer will come by way of a discount on checkout and customers will receive a 6-month plan. Customers taking advantage of the offer must activate their SIM cards within 45 days of purchase. There is a limit of four offers allowed per customer. Plan renews as a 6-month plan at its full price. To qualify for the deal, a customer's IMEI number and phone number cannot have been associated with a Mint Mobile plan within 90 days of activation.
Available plans with the promotional pricing shown are below:
- $45 total - 4GB monthly high-speed data, works out to average cost of $7.5/month (renews at $120 total)
- $60 total - 10GB monthly high-speed data, works out to average cost of $10/month (renews at $150 total)
- $75 total - 15GB monthly high-speed data, works out to average cost of $12.50/month (renews at $210 total)
- $90 total - 35GB of monthly high-speed data, works out to average cost of $15/month (renews at $210 total)
All Mint Mobile plans include unlimited talk, text, and data with the specified amount of data available at high speeds before throttling to 2G data speeds. The plans also include unlimited calling to Mexico and Canada. All plans allow for mobile hotspot to be used to the plan's full-speed data allotment except for the 35GB plan. Hotspot on the 35GB plan is limited to 5GB.
Mint Mobile Black Friday Holiday Seasonal Phone Deals
Mint Mobile is offering some special phone deals for the holiday season. One offer currently highlighted on its website is a buy an iPhone SE and get 12 months of free wireless service offer. To claim the offer, customers must pay the full retail price for the iPhone SE ($399) and purchase one year of service in advance on any Mint Mobile plan. Customers who do so will receive an additional 12 months of service free of charge. So this deal does require a two-year commitment to Mint Mobile to get it. The offer is also valid with select phones and is available with any Mint Mobile plan. Here are the other phone offers available with the price shown to finance the phone and Mint Mobile's 4GB plan over the course of two years.

There is some other fine print to be aware of, namely, customers are prohibited from changing plan length or reducing data limits until the free months of service are fulfilled. However, customers may increase their data limits by paying for the difference in plan prices. This offer is not available for eSIM.
Mint Mobile Holiday 2021 Referral Credit Bonus
Mint Mobile is also running a special bonus credit referral program over the holiday shopping season. Customers that refer a friend to Mint Mobile will receive a $100 referral credit, instead of the usual rate of $25 for a first referral. The friend being referred will receive a $15 renewal credit and also get to buy 3 months and get 3 months free.
