Wave7 Research noted in its latest prepaid report that Consumer Cellular has launched a new rate on its unlimited plan for persons aged 50 and up. Eligible customers can get two unlimited lines for $60/month with autopay billing enabled, taxes and fees are extra. Without autopay, the rate is $65/month. The new rate is being supported by a recently launched TV ad, which debuted on 9/16 and has already aired over 2k times.

Consumer Cellular's unlimited plan includes 50GB of high-speed data each billing cycle before speeds are reduced to 512 Kbps. Something notable is that the 50GB of data is shared between the two lines. Each line does not get a separate allotment of data.

Consumer Cellular now has three different two-line unlimited plan rates:

“Consumer Cellular’s new plan with two lines at $60/month is highly competitive.  One interesting aspect is that customers 50 and older are eligible, whereas T-Mobile’s plan for older customers has a minimum age of 55.  Wave7 Research is seeing a new TV ad for this, although we’re not yet seeing Consumer Cellular’s 50+ plan at Target or Walmart.” – Jeff Moore, Principal of Wave7 Research

Consumer Cellular TV Ad, "New Rate Plan: Two for $60"

The new ad from Consumer Cellular is titled "New Rate Plan: Two for $60." It features a voiceover stating, "Everywhere you look, things are getting more expensive. So at Consumer Cellular, we're lowering the price for those 50 and up." The unlimited plan is then pitched to viewers. The ad continues with Consumer Cellular touting its accolades by highlighting the 2024 American Customer Satisfaction Index, which has the brand ranked number one for network coverage and customer satisfaction. You can watch the full ad below. It's also airing in Spanish.

Consumer Cellular operates as an ATT MVNO with 4 million subscribers. It is sold at Target, over 1800 Walmarts, and 80 Bi-Mart stores. The company has also been opening up its own branded stores with roughly 30 now in operation. For the past couple of years, the MVNO has used actor Ted Danson as their company spokesperson.
