The Home Shopping Network, or HSN for short is often the go to place for stellar TracFone deals.  Today the online retailer has another great offer in tow.

The latest deal includes an LG Rebel 3 bundled with an annual service plan consisting of 1500 minutes, 1500 texts and 1.5 GB of 4G LTE data for $59.95.  Also included in the bundle is a car charger and case.  A look around the internet and the phone alone is selling for $69 at both Amazon and Walmart. The airtime itself is sold for $125 when purchased directly from Tracfone. So this deal really is a steal for TracFone fans. To top it off, service is on the Verizon network, so you can be assured of good coverage.

More About The LG Rebel 3

The LG Rebel 3 is a budget device and features the following specifications:

  • 5" 480 x 854 screen
  • 1.1 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor
  • 16GB of internal storage with approximately 10GB useable. Expandable with the purchase of a microSD card
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 5 MP main camera with flash
  • 5 MP selfie camera
  • Android 7.0 Nougat
  • 2,500 mAh battery
  • Double tap screen to put it to sleep or wake it back up
  • Support for the following LTE bands:
    2,4, and 13

If you're in the market for a new phone that you plan to use sparingly on a cellular network, this deal might just be for you.  You can get it while supplies last at the HSN.  However, if you already own a phone, Red Pocket Mobile's similarly priced annual plan that is sold on eBay may be a better value for you.

does the 1500 minutes last for a certain length time or for the lifetime of the phone? I just want the TracFone for backup on my other cell phone.

Thank you for the information. I have a TracFone, triple minutes phone and I realize this plan doesn’t triple. My question is should I activate it as a separate line and keep my other TracFone triple phone as a back-up (it’s good until April 2019 if I don’t add more time to it)? Or, should I just switch my triple phone to this one? I have about 380 minutes, 7K texts, and 180 MB data that would all probably be cut down 2/3 if I switch. I don’t use a lot of texts so losing 2/3 of the texts doesn’t bother me. I went ahead and ordered it either way since it’s hard to beat the price for what you get.

You understood my question. It’s not a big deal as it’s only a couple hundred minutes and I can burn through them before I switch if I need to. I purchased a Rebel 2 last year which is a smart phone that has triple and the one I ordered today appears to be a bit of an upgrade. With the texts, losing 2/3 wouldn’t be a major issue because I use maybe one to two dozen texts a month. From other reports, it sounds like they are trying to do away with triple plans. Considering how much I spend every three months ($17.99), the $60 for a new phone and 1,500 Talk, Text, and Data is a better deal than the $17.99 hat only gives me 180Talk, Text, and Data, and that’s after tripling; in 9 months, I would have spent almost $54 and only gained 540 talk, text, and data after tripling. For a few dollars more, I have almost triple with 1,500.

In terms of dealing with TracFone support, I try to avoid it as it feels like going to the dentist and having a root canal without anesthesia. I will probably go through Support once I get the phone in a week and half.

I appreciate the heads-up as I would have been spending $17.99 next month if I hadn’t seen your e-mail.

I went on Facebook and sent a message to TracFone. They verified I would get to keep my existing talk, text, and data amounts. They didn’t mention that I would get tripled for the 1,500 talk/text/data and I thought I wouldn’t since the new phone isn’t a triple phone. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I did the transfer and the 1,500 showed as tripled to 4,500. From the response, it sounds like if you have an active triple phone as of late December, you get to keep the benefit even if you switch to a non-triple phone.

I also just upgraded from a Rebel 2 to a Rebel 3. Tracfone also tripled my minutes, texts, and data! A very pleasant surprise indeed. With the service days transferred from the old phone I won’t need to spend a cent until July 2020! For the record I always use a chat session when dealing with customer support. I use my desktop computer and just log into my account and request a chat session. Took about 5 minutes total to get up and running.
