Total Wireless and Simple Mobile are both offering MasterCard eGift cards with the purchase and activation of select Samsung and iPhone devices.  Total Wireless is only offering the gift card with the purchase of Samsung devices.  Simple Mobile is offering a gift card with the purchase of either phone brands.  Up to $100 in gift cards are available depending on the phone purchased.

There are different phones available for purchase from each wireless brand.  But both wireless brands have the same fine print described below.

Offer Fine Print

The offer is for new lines of activation only.

In order to qualify for the eGift card, customers must purchase a qualifying device and 30-day service plan by 3/31/2020 in the same transaction.  The device and plan must then be activated by 4/14/2020.  Once activated, subscribers will receive a text message containing a redemption code and a link with instructions on how to redeem the gift card.  The text message with code will be sent by 4/24/2020.  The code can only be redeemed one time, cannot be replaced, and there is a limit of 1 eGift card allowed per phone number.  Customers must download their MasterCard eGift card immediately after redemption.  Simple Mobile and Total Wireless do not explicitly state what will happen if it is not immediately redeemed, but given the other fine print just described it is likely subscribers will forfeit the eGift card if it is not immediately redeemed. The eGift card codes must be redeemed by 4/30/2020.

Simple Mobile's eGift card redemption website is up and running at https://simplemobilegiftrewards.com/.  The Total Wireless redemption website is located at https://totalwirelessgiftrewards.com/.

Deal Analysis

Unfortunately, these offers don't appear to be anything too special.  For instance, a brand new unlocked Samsung Galaxy S10e is currently available at Best Buy for $549.99 and is compatible with both Total Wireless and Simple Mobile.  It will cost you $50 more to get the device at Simple Mobile with the price difference being made up in the form of an eGift card.  Not only that, Simple Mobile and Total Wireless devices are sold locked to their respective networks until they've been used on their respective network for a period of 12 months.  After 12 months they can be unlocked for use elsewhere.  Now if you were to buy the S10e at Total Wireless you'll get a small deal in that you'll save $50 after accounting for the $100 eGift card vs buying the device unlocked from Best Buy.
