Starting June 2, Cricket Wireless will make the Moto G Stylus 5G 2023 available to customers for $249.99. It will be available both in stores and online. The phone has an unlocked list price of $399.99. Cricket is offering it at a bit of a discount although it will be locked to its network for a period of 6 months of paid usage on the network.
The Moto G Stylus 5G 2023 has the following specifications:
- 6.6 inch 1080 x 2400px IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 120Hz
- 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor
- 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage expandable with a microSD card
- 50MP f/1.9 main camera and a 16MP f/2.5 selfie camera both with a 1.0um sensor size
- 8MP ultra-wide lens
- 5000 mAh battery with 20W wired charging
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- side-mounted fingerprint scanner
- Built-in stylus
- NFC
The phone should not be confused with the Motorola Moto G Stylus 2023 which lacks support for 5G networks and has a few other different features including a MediaTek processor instead of Qualcomm. The cheaper version sells for just $199.99.
Motorola has released a few new devices recently that have been picked up by other prepaid brands. Yesterday, Boost Mobile announced it would carry the Moto Edge+ 2023 for $199.99 in stores for switchers and that it could be activated on the new Boost 5G Network.
This looks to be a terrific smartphone that’s value filled with all the specs at this low to mid category. Hopefully it will be exactly the same as the Unlocked versions to be sold at a later date by Amazon, Motorola web site, etc. That means no reduction in RAM(from 6GB to 4GB). The last version, Moto G Stylus 5G 2022 was only sold with 4GB of RAM for Cricket’s version). I have this Cricket variant and Cricket did not specify that so I thought it was 6GB of RAM. It’s an excellent smartphone but there are times it is janky and IMHO, 6GB of RAM would’ve probably fixed that.
