Straight Talk Wireless has launched a new advertising campaign. Wave7 Research is reporting that the MVNO began to air two new television ads on 4/29/19. One ad, shown below, urges wireless shoppers to "cut their bill in half with Straight Talk Wireless." The ad features Straight Talk Wireless's $45/month plan that includes unlimited talk, text, and data with the first 25GB at 4G LTE data speeds.
Deciphering the ads fine print, it can be seen that the offer is squarely aimed at AT&T and Verizon Wireless postpaid customers. The fine print says you can cut your bill in half in comparison to no contract, single line plans with unlimited talk, text, and data from the top two carriers. Verizon's postpaid top unlimited LTE/5G data plan is priced at $95/month with auto-pay billing enabled. AT&T's top unlimited LTE plan is priced at $80/month with auto-pay billing. So cutting your bill in half would be an accurate statement. However, both providers also have cheaper unlimited data plan options, including prepaid. AT&T's cheapest prepaid unlimited plan is just $55/month, while Verizon's is $65/month.
The other ad running urges shoppers to bring their phone to Straight Talk Wireless for service that is "up to 50% less" than the competition.
Straight Talk Wireless is one of several Tracfone brands owned by América Móvil. In the company's most recent quarterly financial report, América Móvil noted that it has over 21 million subscribers in the USA. Nearly half of those subscribers are due to the Straight Talk Wireless brand. The success of the brand can be in part attributed to the company's strong relationship with Walmart and its willingness to keep its brand name fresh in the minds of consumers through its advertising campaigns.

I absolutely love straight talk.
We’ve been with them 7 years and our CDMA / Verizon service has gotten so bad it is almost non existent. It was great until 2 years ago. We are looking st other providers for rural service.
I’ve been with Straight Talk for over 5 years. It IS the cheapest monthly service with no contracts. I’m connected to my home network half of the time so I dont burn through my data offered through them; but have no issues when I’m away from the house. Never have had. Their customer service has ALWAYS been very helpful in walking me through setting up the data info whenever I get a new phone, etc. Like I said, I’ve been with them for over 5 years now and have no plans of changing.
I’ve used straight talk for years. It’s ok until there’s a problem just like about every operator out there. I use their Verizon phone network which is reasonably good. Don’t get the ZTE phones though. I had one and watched it randomly self dialing numbers while it sat on the desk in front of me.
The unlimited data package is capped at 55gb. The $35 package with 3gb at high speed and unlimited slow data is all I use. Their slow is still way faster than dial up. I see no need to pay more!
Yes, your bill will be cut in half if you switch at a cost to. You won’t be able to use hotspot an if you do an they apparently can see if you are not in which is illegal i think because that privacy issues. At the sametime they will tell me i couldn’t use hotspot on my phone an said yes I can an they said no you can’t. Also saying that you can’t use any phone you want to but their phone. I said how is that he said because you are not allowed to put a sim card into another phone. I said i have a unlock phone an you have a package said bring your on phone plan that has just a sim card in it. We were going back an forth arguing so I told him we will agree to disagree. So lets talk about data, after you use your data they will intentionally slow you down so slow that dail up from 1990’s seems faster than what you have now. If thats not bad enough their customer service is beyond the worst. They will tell you need to pay for more data when a 1 show can take almost 1GB of data these days. Everyone you talk to in customer service including managers is Bill or John with Indian accent. They will have you on hold for over 45 mins an tell that they are waiting on their system to load an then tell you, ok you are done. When they didn’t do anything nor fix anything you called about and then argue with you that they took care of you. Also when it’s 10:45 pm eastern time they automatically hang up on you in middle of a conversation. There are times randomly when you will lose service no matter where you are either, you just lose service for hour or two then comes back. I have whole list more but what I’m trying to say is that sometimes its better to pay more than to deal with that. They use be really good company. Been with them for 2 years an loved having them but the past 3 months been a little rocky. Also even with auto pay it is still 60 dollars an some change.
