Back in June, BestMVNO reported on the launch of a new wireless service powered by the T-Mobile network: Trump Mobile. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump were said to be the faces behind the brand, while several industry veterans were reported to be running day-to-day operations. The initial launch was met with skepticism by some that was further fueled by a website that was not fully functional and contained software bugs. Stetson Doggett documented the issues in a YouTube video titled "I Signed Up for Trump Mobile So You Don't Have To."
Skeptics, however, may need to start putting at least some of their reservations aside. According to the latest prepaid report by the firm Wave7 Research, Trump Mobile has launched in its first dealer store in a location in California. Distribution is being handled by AH Prepaid, a master dealer enabling independent retailers to sell the brand. AH Prepaid is also recruiting additional dealers and currently serves as a master dealer for others, including LinkUP Mobile and MobileX.
“This move for Trump Mobile to be sold via dealers, working with AH Prepaid, is the first competitive move that Trump Mobile has made since it was announced in June. Competing in this channel against established players will be an uphill battle, but Trump Mobile already has 35K followers on Twitter and could have success if promoted strongly as a direct-to-consumer brand.” – Jeff Moore, Principal of Wave7 Research
The 47 Plan
Trump Mobile is a prepaid wireless service that offers just one plan, The 47 Plan. The name is a nod to Donald Trump serving as the 47th President. It also costs $47.45 referencing each Presidential term served by Trump. The plan includes:
- 20GB of high-speed data before throttling
- Unlimited talk and text
- Calling to 100+ international destinations
- Mobile hotspot included
- Talk and text to Canada and Mexico
- U.S.-based support, headquartered in St. Louis, MO
- Instant activation via eSIM or physical SIM
- Free roadside assistance, with up to $100 in towing benefits (provided by Drive America)
- Free device protection
- Telehealth services, including virtual care and prescription deliveries
Taxes and fees are not included in the $47.45 base price and may add significantly more to the final bill than customers might expect from typical prepaid and even postpaid services.
A TV Ad In The Works?
In mid-August, Trump Mobile released a 30-second video ad distributed through its social media channels including x.com and Facebook. The ad carries the look and feel of a standard TV commercial, though neither BestMVNO nor Wave7 Research has observed any official TV airings. The ad, which you can watch here or down below, highlights all of the brand's included features with the tagline "the future of wireless is here." It also frames the service as “all part of America’s new wireless freedom.”

Delayed and Controversial Launch of the T1 Phone

Between the new video ad, an appearance at the 2025 All Wireless and Prepaid Expo, the launch into the dealer channel, and brand name recognition, Trump Mobile looks to be planning a serious push to compete in the market. However, the mobile service provider does appear to be having an issue getting its branded phone launched to market. The Trump Phone, called the T1 and priced at $499, was originally supposed to have launched in late August to early September. The launch date has now been moved back to an October release date and with some controversy surrounding it.
A new rendering of the T1 was released in late August and posted to Trump Mobile social media channels. Critics noted it was likened to a modified Samsung Galaxy S25 and was covered in a rendering of a phone case with the logo of the case manufacturer Spigen still on it. Use of the logo in promotional material was not authorized by Spigen who immediately threatened a lawsuit over it. Trump Mobile quickly deleted the post.
