Verizon-owned Simple Mobile has launched a triple data promotion. It's a limited-time offer available to new customers who either port-in or get a new number. The offer is only available at Simple Mobile authorized retail locations, a channel where they regularly dominate in sales according to Wave7 Research's quarterly prepaid dealer survey. The promo should allow their continued dominance, barring a response from another provider.
Customers interested in the deal can choose from the following triple data options:
- $25/month plan - 15GB of data up from 5GB
- $30/month plan - 30GB of data up from 10GB
- $40/month plan - 45GB of data up from 15GB
All plans include unlimited data at 2G data speeds once the highlighted monthly high-speed data allotment gets consumed. The plans also include unlimited calling and texting to over 85 countries and free roaming in 16 Latin American countries. Each triple data plan allows mobile hotspot usage. The plans are all deprioritized. During times of network congestion, data speeds will be reduced compared to other customers on the Verizon network who have prioritized data usage. New Rate plan and brand refresh. Honestly kinda aggressive rate plans. @GenMobile_Inc offers 7gb for $30. Big difference if you compare it like that. New customers only. Available only at indirect channel. Can be activated on tmo or Vz network it seems. @bestmvno @wave7jeff… pic.twitter.com/Ntg9mpHJvy

Simple Mobile has not disclosed how long customers will get to keep their triple data allotments. Historically, similar offers have been for life as long as the customer doesn't change to an ineligible triple data plan offering.
Update: A Simple Mobile dealer has chimed in to say that customers can keep the promo for as long as their phone remains active. However, if a subscriber purchases a pin from national retail (Walmart, Target, etc) they will lose the promo. Multi-line discounts are available with each offering.
Clarification regarding hotspot and few other details. Also customers can keep the promo plan as long as their phone remains active. Past due accounts can still qualify if the line has not been completely deactivated. Customers can also switch between different promotional plans… pic.twitter.com/PbzYRrI05Z

The offer fine print does have a peculiar notation though. It says plan data and hotspot allotments may vary by purchase location and you'll have to check your local store for details.
Simple Mobile Enhances Lifeline Program, & Updates Brand Logo & Theme
Additionally, Simple Mobile has made changes to its Lifeline program. Customers can now sign up for Lifeline in stores by scanning a QR code. The provider sees this as a way to make it easier for eligible customers to learn about the program and to sign up for its benefits. Simple Mobile's Lifeline program allows customers to receive a discount of $10/month off select plans that include the triple data offerings.
Verizon is also giving Simple Mobile a brand refresh with new and more modern fonts, and a new color scheme that incorporates violet and gray tones. Verizon sees this as a way to help Simple Mobile to further stand out from the competition. The carrier also recently refreshed one of its other prepaid brands, Total by Verizon. Total by Verizon was rebranded back to Total Wireless with a new color scheme and logo. In June, Verizon updated its own logo.
