ATT MVNO AIO Wireless Relaunched as Cricket Wireless

Now that Leap Wireless has fully been swallowed up by AT&T, AT&T has decided to kill off its own barely a year old brand AIO, and replace it with the newly acquired Cricket Wireless via Leap.  As you may or may not have known, Cricket formerly ran on Sprint's network as an MVNO.  For the time being, if you are a Cricket customer you'll be able to keep your current phone and service, although AT&T wants everyone migrated over to it's network over the next 18 months.

Also for a limited time Cricket is offering a limited discount for new customers.  New customers will receive a $50 mail in rebate for select smartphones, current customers need not feel left out though.  If you are currently a subscriber and have paid your bill on time for the past 12 months you too will receive a $50 discount off of your next cell phone purchase.  Crickets plans that include data range in price from $40 and go all the way up to $60.  All plans include unlimited talk and text, and 4G LTE where available.  A note about Cricket's data plans though is that right off the bat all LTE plans are throttled as the maximum data speed is capped at 8 Mbps and if you are on HSPA+ your top speed will be 4 Mbps.  Both these speeds though should be plenty fast for most customers.  If you are interested in Cricket, the new "Smart Plan" appears to offer the best value at $50 for 2.5 GB data at up to 4 G LTE speeds.  If you enable auto pay the price of your monthly bill will drop to $45/month.
