With new Nexus devices likely being announced in about a month, last years models are beginning to get deeply discounted by various vendors.
Today an eBay seller is selling a brand new international variant of the 32 GB LG Nexus 5x's for $239.99. In comparison, Amazon is selling the US version for $279.99.
Specifications
The LG Nexus 5X features the following:
- 5.2 inch 1080p IPS LCD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass
- 1.8 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor
- 32 GB internal storage with 2 GB of RAM
- 2700 mAh battery
- 12.3 MP rear camera with a 5 MP front facing selfie cam
- Android 6.0 Marshmallow is on board, upgradeable to Android 7.0 Nougat

What's great about the Amazon deal is that the device is unlocked and it will work universally on any carrier or MVNO. That means you could use it with Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile or any of their network partners.
The eBay deal is also for an unlocked device, however, it does not have full USA carrier support. It will work with GSM based carriers such as T-Mobile and AT&T, however some frequencies those carriers operate on will not be supported by the phone such as T-Mobile's band 12. The international variant supports the following frequencies.
- 2G : GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
- 3G : 850(B5) / 900(B8) / 1700|2100(B4) / 1800(B3) / 1900(B2) / 2100(B1)
- 4G : LTE 700(B28) / 800(B20) / 850(B5) / 900(B8) / 1700|2100(B4) / 1800(B3) / 1900(B2) / 2100(B1) / 2600(B7) + TD2300 / TD2600
Since it is for the international variant, the eBay deal does not come with a full warranty, however the Amazon deal for the US variant comes with a full warranty.
